The 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series was the 32nd season of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, the second-tier professional stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States. The season was contested over thirty-three races and started on February 23, 2013 at Daytona International Speedway, with the DRIVE4COPD 300, and ended on November 16 with the Ford EcoBoost 300 (Homestead-Miami), Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Austin Dillon of Richard Childress Racing won the Drivers' Championship, becoming the first driver in the three major NASCAR series to do so without recording a win. The NASCAR Xfinity Series Drivers' Championship is awarded by the chairman in NASCAR to the most successful Xfinity Series racing car driver over a season, as determined by a NASCAR rules and regulations#Championship points system, points system based on race results. The Drivers' Championship was first awarded in 1982 NASCAR Busch Series, 1982, to Jack Ingram (racing driver), Jack Ingram. James Carlyle Long (born September 20, 1967) is an American former professional stock car racing driver, mechanic, and team owner. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 66 Toyota Supra for MBM Motorsports. In the past, he served as a mechanic for Mansion Motorsports, Spears Motorsports, and Travis Carter Motorsports. Michael Joseph Harmon (born January 24, 1958) is an American professional stock car racing driver, crew chief, and team owner. He owns Mike Harmon Racing which currently fields the No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. As a driver, he most recently competed in 2023. In the past, he drove in the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series, finishing 8th in points in 1997. NASCAR career Harmon made his NASCAR debut in 1996 driving the No. 24 Chevrolet at South Boston Speedway, where he finished 31st after a transmission failure. He ran seven more races in the car that season, with a best finish of 23rd, but a sponsorship struggle caused his team to close down. Kyle Fowler (born June 7, 1992) is an American former professional stock car racing driver. Career Born in Smyrna, Georgia, Fowler started racing at the age of four racing in Quarter Midget racing, competing all over the country winning numerous championships in various divisions (Sr. Honda, Lite 160 and Lite AA). At the age of eight Fowler moved to the Bandolero Series where he was the GA State Champion. Joseph Robert Gase (born February 8, 1993) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 35/53 Chevrolet Camaro (sixth generation), Chevrolet SS for Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen. Early career and personal life Gase started racing at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in the track's junior classes in 2001.
