Hey Marseilles
Hey Marseilles is an indie folk and chamber pop band from Seattle, Washington (state), Washington founded in 2006 and active until 2019. History The band self-released its first album in 2008 and opened early in its career for groups such as Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band and Parts & Labor. This album was reissued in 2010. A second album, ''Lines We Trace'', arrived in 2013. They then met Anthony Kilhoffer, an LA-based producer and engineer in 2013. Kilhoffer decided to work with them in producing their third album, ''Hey Marseilles''. Hey Marseilles have been on hiatus since 2019. Marseille (band)
Marseille were a British Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Liverpool, England, formed in 1976 by Neil Buchanan, Andy Charters and Keith Knowles. Marseille were the first band to win the "UK Battle of the Bands" competition at Wembley Arena in 1977. History Marseille were formed in Liverpool, England in early 1976. Original members were Paul Dale (vocals), Neil Buchanan (lead guitar), Andy Charters (second guitar), Keith Knowles (drums) and Steve Dinwoodie (bass). The band were originally called ''AC/DC'': during the time that the Australian rock band AC/DC, of the same name was gaining success in the UK, forcing the band to change their name in mid-1976 to "Marseille". Chamber Pop
Chamber pop (also called baroque pop and sometimes conflated with orchestral pop or symphonic pop) is a music genre that combines rock music with the intricate use of strings, horns, piano, and vocal harmonies, and other components drawn from the orchestral and lounge pop of the 1960s, with an emphasis on melody and texture. During chamber pop's initial emergence in the 1960s, producers such as Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, Burt Bacharach, Lee Hazlewood, and the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson served as formative artists of the genre. Wilson's productions of the Beach Boys' albums ''Pet Sounds'' and ''Smile'' are cited as particularly influential to the genre. Shanachie Records
Shanachie Records is an American, New Jersey–based record label, founded in 1975 by Richard Nevins and Dan Collins. The label is named for the Gaelic word '' seanchaí'' (anglicised as shanachie), an Irish storyteller. It was previously distributed by Entertainment One Distribution. Starting as a label that specialized in fiddle music, they began releasing work by Celtic groups such as Planxty and Clannad. Other genres on the label include Latin American, African music, soul, country, and ska. In 1989 they acquired Yazoo Records from Nick Perls. This allowed them to release vintage jazz and blues recordings. Today they have another imprint, Shanachie Jazz. Thirty Tigers is an American music marketing, distribution and management company for independent artists, based in Nashville. History The company was founded in 2002 by David Macias and Deb Markland and is distributed by The Orchard. In 2014, Thirty Tigers entered into a strategic partnership with Sony Music Nashville to promote Chase Rice's single " Ready Set Roll" and album '' Ignite the Night''. This was possibly the first time in country music that a major label paid only for radio promotion. In 2016, Thirty Tigers partnered with Triple 8 Management and Sony Music to create the country-music label Triple Tigers. Triple Tigers signed Russell Dickerson and Scotty McCreery as its first acts. Parts & Labor
Parts & Labor was an American rock band formed in 2002 by B. J. Warshaw and Dan Friel in Brooklyn, New York. Drummer Joe Wong joined the band in 2007. Parts & Labor released five albums, two EPs, one split album (with Tyondai Braxton), and numerous 7"s and compilation tracks. Their music is influenced by DIY punk, experimental/psychedelic rock, and lo-fi electronic music. Drummer Christopher Weingarten left the band in 2008 but they quickly recruited new drummer Joe Wong and added guitarist Sarah Lipstate, turning them into a four-piece band. This lineup recorded ''Receivers'', the band's fourth album, which was released on October 21, 2008 in North America and November 3, 2008 in the UK through Jagjaguwar. Also released in 2008 was ''Escapers Two'', a record which featured 51 songs in around 29 minutes. On July 10, 2009, Lipstate announced via her website she had left the band.
