''Hexed'' is a 1993 American black romantic comedy film starring Arye Gross, Claudia Christian, Adrienne Shelly, and R. Lee Ermey, and written and directed by Alan Spencer. Alan Spencer is an American director and writer known for his work in comedy. Biography Spencer was born in Whittier, California. He began his career in television writing at the age of 15. His initial work involved writing jokes for comedians. His early success in television was marked by overcoming skepticism due to his young age. Spencer is best known for creating the 1980s comedy series ''Sledge Hammer!'' and later, IFC's ''Bullet in the Face''.
