Heroin was an American hardcore punk band formed in San Diego, California, in 1989 within the underground Californian punk scene. They released 17 songs before breaking up in 1993, pioneering the screamo genre. History Heroin was a pioneer of the screamo genre. They were noted for the psychological intensity of their songs, which tended to be very short and include extraordinarily fast drumming and screamed vocals. History The band formed after Andee Connors left his home in San Diego to start a career in music in the San Francisco Bay Area. After a brief stint in Cradlestone RIP and the Sutter Valley Claimjumpers (as Sandee Shotgun), In 1992, he met bassist John Trevor Benson and guitarist Erik Hoversten, forming the band. Battalion of Saints was an American hardcore punk band from San Diego, California, that was founded in 1980. History The band went through numerous lineup changes before touring the United States and Canada from 1984–1985 with George Anthony, Chris Smith, James Cooper and Joey Wrecked (Maya). Half-way through the 1985 summer tour, the road manager Captain Scarlett (David Lloyd) replaced James Cooper on bass. The band officially broke up in 1985. Singer George Anthony re-formed the band in 1995 with Terry "Tezz" Roberts (veteran of British punk bands Discharge (band), Discharge, Broken Bones (band), Broken Bones, and U.K. Subs) and signed with Taang! From First to Last is an American post-hardcore band formed in Tampa, Florida by Matt Good, Scott Oord, and Parker Nelms in November 1999. The current line-up consists of Matt Good (lead vocals and lead guitar), Travis Richter (rhythm guitar and unclean vocals), and Derek Bloom (drums). The band released their first EP ''Aesthetic'' in 2003, which they recorded with founding member and vocalist Phillip Reardon. Reardon left the band in 2004 due to personal and creative differences. After signing with Epitaph Records, the band recruited Sonny Moore as their new vocalist. Geoffrey William Rickly (born March 8, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and author, best known as the lead singer and songwriter of rock band Thursday. Rickly is also a member of hardcore punk band United Nations, and the alternative rock group No Devotion with former members of Lostprophets, and is the founder of the record label Collect Records. In 2023, his debut novel, ''Someone Who Isn’t Me'', was published by Rose Books. Personal life Rickly was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in Dumont, New Jersey, into a Catholic family, and attended Dumont High School, where he was a member of the band and played the tenor sax. He attended Rutgers University until 2000 before dropping out to pursue music. Rickly is a diagnosed epileptic, which has affected his ability to tour.
