Hendersons Relish
Henderson's Relish is a condiment sauce produced in Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. It is similar in appearance and flavour to Worcestershire sauce, but unlike many Worcestershire sauces contains no anchovy, anchovies. It is made of water, sugar and spirit vinegar with a selection of spices and colouring. History Henry Henderson, who had trained as a miller and then as a druggist, began manufacturing sauce in 1885. Originally manufactured at 35 Broad Lane in Sheffield, Henderson's Relish is still being made and was in uninterrupted production within half a mile of the site from which the first bottle was filled, until the move to a new factory in 2013. In 1910, the company was bought by Shaws of Huddersfield, who still supply Hendersons with vinegar. Henderson's, better known as The Bomb Shop, was a bookshop at 66 Charing Cross Road, London known for publishing and selling both far-left politics, radical left and anarchist writing and modernist literature. The shop was founded in 1909, and was a father and son operation run by Francis Riddell Henderson, formerly the London representative of Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet, of Beauclerc, Walter Scott Publishing. The shop was bought by Eva Collet Reckitt, and became the first of the Collet's chain of left-wing bookshops. Shop Few records exist of Francis Henderson's early life, but he had connections with Russian émigrés and developed a passion for Russian literature, especially the works of Tolstoy. This drew him into the circle of Vladimir Chertkov, a prominent Tolstoyan and a pacifist anarchist, and from there into London's radical scene. Jim Dowd (politician)
James Patrick Dowd (born 5 March 1951) is a former British Labour Party politician, who was a Member of Parliament (MP) from 1992 to 2017, first for Lewisham West and following 2010 for Lewisham West and Penge. He stood down at the 2017 general election, following the announcement of Prime Minister Theresa May's snap election in June 2017. The Jessop Hospital for Women was a hospital in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. At the time of its closure in 2001, it was managed by the Central Sheffield University Hospitals NHS Trust. __TOC__ History Early history Following a large donation by Thomas Jessop, a wealthy steelworks owner, a new building was commissioned to replace the old Sheffield Hospital for Women at Figtree Lane, which had only six beds. The new facility was designed by John Dodsley Webster in the Gothic Revival style. The building cost £26,000 – equivalent to approximately £2.1m in 2021 – all paid for by Jessop. ''Atlas Obscura'' is an United States, American-based travel and exploration company. It was founded in 2009 by author Joshua Foer and documentary filmmaker/author Dylan Thuras. Thomas James Wrigglesworth is an English comedian. He was born and raised in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
