Haven (band)
Haven were an English indie rock musical ensemble, band, formed in Cornwall in 1996. The band consisted of singer Gary Briggs, guitarist Nathan Wason, bassist Iwan Gronow and drummer Jack Mitchell. Originally called Blew, their new name was taken from a local Haven Holidays resort.Strong, Martin C. After recruiting drummer Tom Lewis and London born Iwan Gronow, the band moved to Manchester in 1999 after being discovered by the former The Smiths, Smiths' manager Joe Moss set them up with a regular slot at The Night and Day Café. In 2001, drummer Tom Lewis left the band and was replaced by Manchester drummer Jack Mitchell (drummer), Jack Mitchell. Penzance
Penzance ( ; ) is a town, civil parish and port in the Penwith district of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is the westernmost major town in Cornwall and is about west-southwest of Plymouth and west-southwest of London. New Music Television / New Music TV (NMTV), presented by Marc Almond (of Soft Cell) was a weekly series of 26 half-hour music programmes first aired in the UK at 11:30pm in July 2001 on ITV and ITV2. Each show featured six videos from artists and bands around the world together with an interview with a well known or up-and-coming artist/band. The series was formatted to portray a retro, fun and quirky style. Peter Hook And The Light
Peter Hook & the Light are an English post-punk band, formed in May 2010 by bassist and vocalist Peter Hook, formerly of the influential post-punk bands Joy Division and New Order. The band also features Hook's son Jack Bates (bass), as well as Andy Poole (keyboards) and Paul Kehoe (drums), who both played with Hook as part of Monaco, one of Hook's previous groups. From the first gigs in May 2010, Nat Wason (formerly of Haven) was the group's guitarist, however in July 2013 he was replaced by David Potts, another former member of Monaco. The band is noted for performing the Joy Division and New Order albums live. Gary Mounfield
Gary "Mani" Mounfield (born 16 November 1962)Warshaw, AaronMani allmusic.com is an English rock bassist, best known for being a member of the Stone Roses and Primal Scream. Career Mounfield attended Xaverian College in Rusholme, Manchester. He developed an interest in darts, a sport he went on to champion throughout his career. He left school aged sixteen in 1979 and joined the band the Stone Roses (part of the " Madchester" music scene) in 1987. Playing on both of the band's albums, Mounfield was in the Stone Roses until they disbanded in 1996. Mounfield used a Rickenbacker 4005 Jackson Pollock-influenced paint-splattered bass guitar in the period after the Stone Roses debut album. He joined Primal Scream after Stone Roses disbanded. Peter Hook
Peter Hook (born 13 February 1956) is an English musician. He was the bassist and co-founder of the post-punk band Joy Division and its successor New Order. He often used the bass as a lead instrument, playing melodies on the high strings with a signature heavy chorus effect. Along with Bernard Sumner, Hook formed the band which was to become Joy Division in 1976. Following the death of lead singer Ian Curtis in 1980, the band reformed as New Order, and Hook played bass with them until 2007. Hook has recorded one album with Revenge (''One True Passion''), two albums with Monaco ('' Music for Pleasure'' and ''Monaco'') and one album with Freebass ('' It's a Beautiful Life''), serving as bassist, keyboardist and lead vocalist.
