Harshal Pushkarna
Harshal Pushkarna was an executive editor and writer in Safari magazine. He is the son of Nagendra Vijay and grandson of Vijaygupta Maurya. He owns and publishes Gujarati travel magazine Gypsy Traveller, and writes for Gujarat Samachar Daily. Career He joined Safari magazine in 1989 at the age of 14 years as it was run by his father, and worked as an office assistant for some years. Meanwhile, he completed his schooling. He also contributed his science articles for dailies like ''Sandesh'' and ''Mid-Day''; and weekly magazines like ''Network'' in 1995–97. In 1998, he edited ''Citylife News'' — a city magazine of Ahmedabad. In the year 2000, he penned, edited and published an 88-page volume titled '20 mi sadi ni 50 ajod satyaghatnao' () (Fifty historical events of the 20th Century). Nagendra Vijay
Nagendra Vijay (born 15 December 1944) is an Indian science writer in Gujarati language. He is a son of pioneering journalist and science writer Vijaygupta Maurya. He founded the first science magazine in the Gujarati language called Scope and wrote several books. The Nagendra Vijay Science Foundation also launched the English-language science magazine ''Safari magazine, Safari'', in March 2008,Safari Magazine, Gujarati, issue 166, March 2008 of which he is the Editor-in-Chief. Safari Magazine
Safari () is a monthly science and general knowledge magazine published in Gujarati and English language, by Harshal Publications, Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India. Its editor and publisher is Nagendra Vijay. History ''Safari'' Magazine was first published on 1 August 1980 by Nagendra Vijay. It was the first magazine of its kind from Gujarat. After its sixth issue, its publishing was closed. It was relaunched in July 1986. Again, after tenth issue, its publishing was closed. Finally, in May 1992, the magazine was relaunched again, and since then, it has continued. Harshal Publications is a publishing house, known for its informative books and periodicals that educate and enhance creative thinking in younger generation. Vijaygupta Maurya
Vijaygupta Maurya (March 26, 1903 – July 10, 1992) was a pioneer science writer in Gujarati. He wrote thousands of articles popularising science as well as several books. Life Early life Vijaygupta Maurya was born Vijayshankar Murarji Vasu in Porbandar (now in Gujarat, India) in 1909. He completed his high school education at Bhavsingh High School in Porbandar. He studied law in Bombay (now Mumbai) and returned to Porbandar in 1933 to start his legal practice. Four years later, he was elevated to the position of a judge. Due to his passion for bird watching, he wrote articles on birds for ' magazine. In 1944, Indian independence activist Vasant Avsare came to Porbandar and asked Vijaygupta Maurya to fight his case. However, as Vijaygupta Maurya was already at the position of judge, he could not do so. This prompted Vijaygupta Maurya to resign from his position and took Avsare's case as a lawyer. Bana Singh
Captain Bana Singh (born 6 January 1949) is an Indian soldier and a recipient of the nation's highest gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra. As a Naib Subedar in the Indian Army, he led the team that wrested control of the highest peak on the Siachen Glacier in Kashmir from Pakistani forces as part of Operation Rajiv.
