"Hard as a Rock" is a song by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC that the group released in September 1995, through Elektra Records, as the first single from its thirteenth studio album. Titled '' Ballbreaker'', that parent album also came out in September 1995. The song became AC/DC's second number one hit on the Album Rock Tracks chart published by ''Billboard'' inside of the United States, with that achievement having followed after 1993's " Big Gun". Performances of the track have been included on three of AC/DC's live concert DVDs. These include '' No Bull'' (of which an audio version is found on the Australian tour edition of '' Stiff Upper Lip''), '' Stiff Upper Lip Live'' and '' Live at the Circus Krone'', which is featured in the Deluxe Edition of the 2009 boxset '' Backtracks''. ''Stiff Upper Lip'' is the fourteenth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It was released on 28 February 2000. The album was produced by George Young, older brother of Malcolm and Angus Young. It was the last AC/DC album that George produced before his death in 2017. The album was re-released in the US in April 2007 as part of the ''AC/DC Remasters'' series. It was re-released in the UK in 2005. Background The Young brothers began writing songs for what would become ''Stiff Upper Lip'' in the summer of 1997 in London and the Netherlands, with Malcolm on guitar and Angus on drums. By February 1998 the songs were completed. The Cult
The Cult are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Bradford in 1983. Before settling on their current name in January 1984, the band had performed under the name Death Cult, which was an evolution of the name of lead vocalist Ian Astbury's previous band Southern Death Cult. Billy Duffy
William Henry Duffy (born 12 May 1961) is an English rock musician, best known as the guitarist in the band the Cult. Early life Duffy was born and grew up in Manchester, England. He has Irish and Jewish heritage and ancestry. He began playing the guitar at the age of fourteen, being influenced by the music of Queen, Thin Lizzy, the Who, Aerosmith, Blue Öyster Cult, and the early work of Led Zeppelin. In the late 1970s he became involved in the punk movement, influenced by the New York Dolls, the Stooges, Buzzcocks, the Sex Pistols, and AC/DC. Bruce Earl Fairbairn (December 30, 1949 – May 17, 1999) was a Canadian record producer. He was active as a producer from 1976 to 1999, and is considered one of the best of his era.
