Haras Don Alberto
Haras Don Alberto (also Stud Haras Don Alberto, Don Alberto Stables) is a thoroughbred racehorse breeding and training farm from Chile that has expanded to include operations in Argentina, England, and the United States. It is a subsidiary of Bethia Holding. History Alberto Solari Magnasco founded Haras Tarapacá, which went on to become a successful and notable racehorse farm in Chile. Haras Tarapacá produced notable Chilean racehorses including descendants of the stallion Monterey who was frequently on the leading sire list. Among these were Malhoa, winner of the Tanteo de Potrancas, Clásico El Derby, and Clásico St. Leger, and Megere, winner of the Clásico Arturo Lyon Peña and Clásico Nacional Ricardo Lyon. Horse breeding is reproduction in horses, and particularly the human-directed process of selective breeding of animals, particularly purebred horses of a given breed. The Belmont Stakes is an American Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds run at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. It is run over 1.5 miles (2,400 m). Colts and geldings carry a weight of ; fillies carry . Arcangelo is a retired Champion American three-year-old thoroughbred race horse who won the 2023 Belmont Stakes and Travers Stakes. Background Arcangelo is a gray ridgling from the second crop of 2016 Travers Stakes and Breeders' Cup Classic champion Arrogate, who was named that year's Longines World's Best Racehorse and had a short-lived stud career before passing in 2020. On his Dam's side Arcangelo is a grandson of Tapit. The horse's owner Jon Ebbert purchased the future champion for $35,000 from Gainesway's consignment at the 2021 September Yearling Sale at Keeneland. Into Mischief (foaled March 28, 2005) is a retired American Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire. During his racing career, he won three of six starts including the CashCall Futurity. Since his retirement, he has developed into an outstanding sire, leading the North American sire list in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. His offspring include Authentic (2020 American Horse of the Year), Mandaloun (2021 Kentucky Derby), Life Is Good (Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile) and Covfefe (female sprint Champion). Haras La Biznaga
Haras La Biznaga was "one of Argentina's most famous and historic" thoroughbred racehorse breeding and training farms in Argentina. It was originally founded as an agricultural business in 1961, with the horse stud farm built in 1972 and liquidated in 2018. History The land that would eventually become Haras La Biznaga was purchased by Carlos María Lucio Blaquier and Virginia de Alzaga de Blaquier in 1891, covering nearly ten square miles. Carlos María designed the silks used by the farm, green with pink sleeves. Carlos Thays designed the estate's park, and either Valentín Solis or Ferruccio Togneri designed the house. In 1961, the Blaquier family set up a company, La Biznaga S.A. to own the farm, which at the time consisted of various dairies and bred shorthorn cattle. The La Brea Stakes is a Grade I American thoroughbred horse race for three-year-old fillies over a distance of seven furlongs on the dirt track held annually in late December at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California, USA. Frankel (foaled 11 February 2008) is a retired champion British Thoroughbred racehorse and current sire. He was unbeaten in his fourteen-race career and was the highest-rated racehorse in the world from May 2011. In 2010 he defeated a field including subsequent Group 1 winners Nathaniel and Colour Vision on his debut before winning the Royal Lodge Stakes by ten lengths and the Dewhurst Stakes in which he defeated the Middle Park Stakes winner Dream Ahead. Tattersalls
Tattersalls (formerly Tattersall's) is the main auctioneer of race horses in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Founding It was founded in 1766 by Richard Tattersall (1724–1795), who had been stud groom to the second Duke of Kingston. The first premises occupied were near Hyde Park Corner, in what was then the outskirts of London. Two "Subscription rooms" were reserved for members of the Jockey Club, and they became the rendezvous for sporting and betting men. Among the famous dispersal sales conducted by "Old Tatt" were those of the Duke of Kingston's stud in 1774 and of the stud of the Prince of Wales (afterwards George IV) in 1786.
