The Hand Eye Society is a Non-profit organization, not-for-profit coalition of projects and people in support of Toronto's video game communities. Nuit Blanche
Nuit Blanche () (White Night) is an annual all-night or night-time arts festival of a city. A Nuit Blanche typically has museums, private and public art galleries, and other cultural institutions open and free of charge, with the centre of the city itself being turned into a ''de facto'' art gallery, providing space for art installations, performances (music, film, dance, performance art), themed social gatherings, and other activities. TOJam
TOJam or Toronto Game Jam is an annual game development event held at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada each spring, usually the first weekend in May. The event is named for the common abbreviation for Toronto ("T.O."), and the term for an impromptu performance ("jam"), borrowed from jazz. The name of the event is knowingly evocative of " toe jam." The first TOJam event was held in May 2006. Among the organizers/co-founders were Emilie McGinley, Jim McGinley, Rob Segal and Nelson Yu. Event Structure TOJam is a live event that takes place over the course of a single weekend from Friday to Sunday, although some events have offered developers earlier access starting Thursday. Jim Munroe
Jim Munroe is a Canadian science fiction author, independent game developer, filmmaker, and cultural organizer. Munroe was managing editor at the magazine ''Adbusters'' in the 1990s, before publishing his debut novel ''Flyboy Action Figure Comes With Gasmask'' in 1999. The novel was put out by HarperCollins, a major publishing company owned by Rupert Murdoch, and though the book was successful, Munroe so disliked the experience that he launched No Media Kings as a venue for publishing and promoting his own works independently, and a guide to self-publishing for other prospective writers. The book was shortlisted for the Books in Canada First Novel Award in 2000. In 2000, Munroe released ''Angry Young Spaceman'' through No Media Kings. Nuit Blanche Festival
Nuit (alternatively Nu, Nut, or Nuith) is a goddess in Thelema, the speaker in the first chapter of ''The Book of the Law'', the sacred text written or received in 1904 by Aleister Crowley.
