Hamas Most Wanted Playing Cards
The Hamas most wanted cards are decks of playing cards featuring pictures of Hamas members wanted by the Israel. The decks were produced by independent volunteers and were handed out to Israel Defense Forces soldiers during the early stages of the Israel–Hamas war. Unofficial IDF deck As part of the Israel–Hamas war, an unofficial card deck of 54 wanted individuals were distributed to Israeli soldiers. The idea for the deck was inspired by the most-wanted Iraqi playing cards created by the Defense Intelligence Agency for identifying the top wanted members of Saddam Hussein's government during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The history of making such cards dates back to the American Civil War. Abu Obaida (Hamas)
Abu Obaida ( ar, أبو عبيدة, romanized: ''Abū ʿUbayda''), also spelled Abu Obayda, Abu Ubayda and Abu Ubaydah, is the ''nom de guerre'' of a Palestinian militant who is the spokeperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamist Palestinian political and military organization Hamas. Personal details Abu Obaida's actual name is not known, and neither are most of his personal details. He only appears wearing a keffiyeh covering his face. In 2014, Israeli media outlets released a photo, allegedly of Abu Obaida, with the name Huzaifa Samir Abdullah al-Kahloot. However, the validity of the photo and name were denied by the al-Qassam Brigades, a senior leader of which said that Abu Obaida "does not and will not appear to the media," and that only a small number of people knew who he actually was. Ayman Nofal
Ayman Nofal ( ar, أيمن نوفل; 13 May 1974 – 17 October 2023) was a Palestinian senior commander in Al-Qassam Brigades, the militant arm of Hamas. Nofal was a member of the group's General Military Council, head of its Central Gaza Brigade, and head of air operations. He was killed during the 2023 Israel-Hamas war. Biography By 2008, Nofal was a leader in the Al-Qassam Brigades, the militant arm of Hamas, as a field commander in central Gaza. Nofal was arrested along with 200 other Palestinians in the northern Egyptian city of Al-Arish in the Sinai Peninsula by Egyptian security forces in early 2008. Mohammed Sinwar
Mohammed Ibrahim Hassan Sinwar (; born 16 September 1975) is a Palestinian politician. He is also a leader of the Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas. He spent several years in Israeli jails in the 1990s and became the leader of Hamas' Khan Younis Brigade in 2005. He has been subject to several assassination attempts by Israel. Killing Of Yahya Sinwar
On 16 October 2024, during their operations in the Israel–Hamas war, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. His killing was the result of a routine patrol and a chance encounter in the southern Gazan city of Rafah. He had been one of Israel's most wanted men after the 7 October Hamas-led attack on Israel. In the lead-up to the shootout, members of the 828th Bislamach Brigade reported activity they deemed suspicious and received orders to engage. When their drone spotted three militants leaving a building, the soldiers fired upon them, not knowing that Sinwar was among them. The militants scattered, with Sinwar entering a nearby building alone. A firefight ensued, in which an IDF soldier was severely injured. Yahya Sinwar
Yahya Sinwar ( ar, يحيى السنوار, born 1962; also called Yehya Al-Sinwar and spelled Yehiya Sinwar or Yehiyeh Sinwar) is the current Palestinian leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, having taken over from Ismail Haniyeh in February 2017. He was one of the co-founders of the security apparatus of Hamas. He is the second most powerful figure within Hamas. Khalil al-Hayya (Arabic: خليل الحية) is a senior Hamas official who was elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council on 25 January 2006 as a representative of Gaza City. He resided in the neighborhood of Shuja'iyya. Essam al-Da'alis (, born 30 October 1966), also spelled Daalis or Dalis, is a Palestinian politician and Hamas member who, on 13 June 2021, was appointed as head of the Government Administrative Committee of the Gaza Strip, a position also referred to as "head of Government Follow-up Committee" and often compared to that of Prime Minister or head of government. Assassination Of Ismail Haniyeh
On 31 July 2024, Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, was assassinated along with his personal bodyguard in the Iranian capital Tehran by an apparent Israeli attack. Haniyeh was killed in his accommodation in a military-run guesthouse after attending the inauguration ceremony for Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian.
