Hallstein Rasmussen
Hallstein Rasmussen (22 April 1925 – 28 February 2016) was a Norwegian civil servant. Rasmussen was born in Fræna, and graduated from the University of Oslo in 1952. He was first hired at the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries in 1953, where he worked as secretary for the director Klaus Sunnanå. From 1958 to 1968 he served as secretary general for the trade union . From 1968 he was assigned assisting director in the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, and was appointed head of the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries from 1978 to 1988. Fræna
Fræna is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It was part of the region of Romsdal. The municipality was located on the Romsdal peninsula surrounding the Frænfjorden, the eastern shore of the Julsundet strait, and includes most of the Hustadvika area. It also included the now-abandoned Bjørnsund islands. The main village and administrative centre in Fræna was Elnesvågen with over 2,300 inhabitants. Moxy Engineering, Hustad Marmor, and Tine Meierier are all factories located in Elnesvågen. Other villages in Fræna included Hustad, Bud, Tornes, Sylte, Malme, and Aureosen. The Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries ( no, Fiskeridirektoratet) is a Norwegian government agency. Klaus Sunnanå
Klaus Sunnanå (29 January 1905 – 22 January 1980) was a Norwegian ''Mot Dag'' member, economist and fisheries director. He was born in Avaldsnes as a son of teacher and farmer Knut Andreas Søndenaa (1871–1948) and Lisa Kristine Thuestad (1880–1958). He took his secondary education at Voss in 1926, and graduated from the Royal Frederick University with the cand.oecon. degree in 1930. He was a member of ''Mot Dag'', and chaired the Norwegian Students' Society in 1932. As a ''Mot Dag'' member, he was a prolific contributor to ''Arbeidernes leksikon'', and Sunnanå followed as the organization became merged into the Labour Party in 1936. In 1935 Sunnanå was hired in the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries. His publication ''Lofotfiskets lønnsomhet '' in 1936 was perhaps the world's first publication within fishery economics. Knut Vartdal (born 1 October 1940) is a Norwegian politician from the Centre Party. He was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Fisheries in 1968 when the cabinet Borten held office.
