Haldaa
''Haldaa'' is a 2017 Bangladeshi film directed by Tauquir Ahmed, based on the story written by Azad Bulbul. The film's plot is based on the struggling life of the fishermen of Halda River located in Chittagong, the only natural fish breeding center in Asia. The film is narrated in local Chittagonian dialect, although the dialogues are simplified for the understanding of the general audience. Tauquir Ahmed (born 5 March 1966) is a Bangladeshi architect and actor, turned director in both television and cinema. His films won many international and national awards including Bangladesh National Film Awards in the Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Story categories for the films ''Joyjatra'' (2004) and ''Oggatonama'' (2016). Education Ahmed studied in Jhenidah Cadet College (JCC) for his SSC and HSC exam. In JCC he actively took part in inter-house drama competition. Halda River
Halda River is a river in south-eastern Bangladesh. It originates at the Badnatali Hill Ranges in Ramgarh Upazila in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, flows through Fatikchhari Upazila, Bhujpur Thana, Hathazari Upazila, Raozan Upazila and Chandgaon Thana of the Chittagong Metropolitan City, and falls into the Karnaphuli River. The river has a very turbulent tributary, the Dhurung River, which joins Purba Dhalai about downstream. The river is navigable by big boats from its mouth up to Nazir Hat, and by small boats further up to Narayanhat. The Halda averages in depth and is at its deepest point. The Halda river is also famous for breeding pure Indian carp. This is the only pure Indian carp breeding field of Bangladesh, perhaps in South Asia.
