Hadsund
Hadsund () is a town in the eastern part of Jutland with a population of 4,918 (1 January 2025; 5,356 incl. Hadsund South). The town is located by the narrow strait of ''Hadsund,'' along an inlet of the Mariager Fjord. It is situated south of the city of Aalborg and north of the city of Randers. The town is a part of Mariagerfjord Municipality in the North Denmark Region. Until 2007, Hadsund was the administrative seat of Hadsund Municipality. The area has had human presence since at least the Iron Age, though the settlement of modern Hadsund, centred around the ferry connection across the fjord, is first mentioned in 1736. Hadsund houses multiple educational institutions, including ''Tech College Mariagerfjord'', ''VUC Hadsund'', ''Hadsund School,'' and ''Hadsund Produktionsskole'' in the area of vocational education. Hadsund South
Hadsund South ( Danish: ), originally Sønder Hadsund, is a district in the city of Hadsund, adjoined to the rest of the city by the Hadsund Bridge. It lies 252 meters south of the city proper. Due to the separation from the rest of Hadsund, it is classified as an "independent urban area" by Statistics Denmark. As of 1 January 2025, the area has a population of 438. The area was first recognized in 1436. Today, Hadsund South Station and the Ferry Inn Hotel (Færgekroen) are located in Hadsund South. Hadsund Municipality
Hadsund Municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in North Jutland County on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark until 1 January 2007 the municipality covered an area of 170.28 km², and had a total population of 10,914 (2004). Its last mayor was Karl Christensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Denmark), Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The largest city and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hadsund. Mariager Fjord
With a length of approximately 35 km (22 statute miles), Mariager Fjord is the longest fjord in Jutland, and the 2nd longest fjord (tied with Ise Fjord on Zealand), behind Roskilde Fjord in Denmark (excluding the self-governing territory of Greenland).
