Hackzell Cabinet
Antti Hackzell's cabinet was the 27th government of Republic of Finland. Cabinet's time period was from September 8, 1944 to October 21, 1944. It was a majority government. Hackzell's government's main task was to get Finland out of the war against Soviet Union. At the end of August Antti Hackzell obtained a negotiation link with Moscow and on September 2 the government agreed to an armistice which started two days later. Hackzell travelled to Moscow to negotiate the peace treaty but he suffered a bad stroke on September 14 and couldn no longer continue his work as minister. Foreign minister Carl Enckell succeeded him in making the Moscow Armistice treaty. Rudolf Walden
Karl Rudolf Walden (1 December 1878 in Helsinki – 25 October 1946) was a Finnish industrialist and a military leader. Education Walden received his military education at the Hamina Cadet School and graduated in 1900. He was dismissed from service in 1902, in connection with conscription strikes. Finnish civil war From 20 February 1918 till 5 March 1918, Walden was chief of Vaasa military district. From then until 6 May 1918, he was chief of headquarters of the rear. He then became chief of security of the occupied areas until 22 May 1918. On 28 November 1918, Walden became minister of war and held this position until 15 August 1919. The National Progressive Party ( fi, Kansallinen Edistyspuolue; sv, Framstegspartiet) was a liberal political party in Finland from 1918 to 1951. The party was founded 8 December 1918, after the Finnish Civil War, by the republican majority of the Young Finnish Party and the republican minority of the Finnish Party (the next day the monarchists of both parties founded the National Coalition Party.)
