HII (album)
''h II'' is the second album by Japanese producer DJ Honda. It was released on November 12, 1997 via Sony Records in Japan and on March 24, 1998 via Relativity Records and Epic Records in North America and Europe. Audio production of the album was solely handled by DJ Honda, except for three tracks of its worldwide version produced by Mista Sinista, Roc Raida and V.I.C. respectively. It featured guest appearances from various hip hop artists, including Camp Lo, Cuban Link, De La Soul, KRS-One, Mos Def and The Beatnuts among others. With DJ HONDA'S production and scratching, other hip hop artists continue to drop verses. The album peaked at number 57 on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 16 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. It also spawned seven singles, but only two of them reached music charts: "Travellin' Man" (No. 76 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and No. 17 on Hot Rap Songs) and "On The Mic" (No. 89 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs). DJ Honda
DJ Honda is a Japanese record producer and DJ best known for his 1995 self-titled eponymous debut, '' DJ Honda'' (also shortened to '' h''). Biography DJ Honda moved to Tokyo at 17 years old to play in an American influenced rock band called 'The Clique' as the vocalist and guitarist. However, the band struggled and Honda was forced to seek additional employment. He began DJing at the popular nightclubs in a small nearby city, Shizuoka where he was first introduced to hip hop music and various turntable techniques, including scratching & beat juggling. Eventually, Honda landed gigs in Tokyo's largest clubs while perfecting his turntable techniques. Camp Lo
Camp Lo is an American hip hop duo, formed in 1995, which hails from The Bronx, New York. The duo consists of rappers Sonny Cheeba (Salahadeen Wilds) and Geechi Suede (Saladine Wallace). The duo is perhaps best known for their 1997 hit " Luchini AKA This Is It". Career Initially signed with Profile Records, Camp Lo made their first appearance in 1996 on '' The Great White Hype'' soundtrack, with their single, "Coolie High". The smooth party song was a minor hit, peaking at #25 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Rap Singles chart. WhoSampled is a website and app database of information about sampled music or sample-based music, cover songs and remixes. History Nadav Poraz founded the site in London, England in 2008, as a way to track musical samples and cover songs. Mobile apps were released in 2012 and 2014 for iPhone and Android, respectively. The website's database is user-generated and reviewed by moderators before the content goes live. As of 2022, the site's most sampled track is the Amen break from the Winstons. In 2015, the site added support for film and television clips. The following year, it partnered with Spotify and introduced a six degrees of separation-inspired game that tracks relationships between artists, producers, and their tracks. Derrick Lemel Stewart (born March 26, 1968), known professionally as Fatlip, is a Los Angeles-born hip hop musician. He started his career in the hip hop group The Pharcyde. Early career The Pharcyde As a member of The Pharcyde, Fatlip contributed to the critically acclaimed ''Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde'' as well as the follow-up release ''Labcabincalifornia''. After the release of the ''Labcabincalifornia'' album, Fatlip was kicked out of the group, in part for leaving the supporting tour for their second album in favor of working on his own solo efforts.
