Guting Metro Station
Guting (, formerly transliterated as Kuting Station until 2003) is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by Taipei Metro. The defunct Hsintien line also had a station of the same name. However, its location is not the same as the current station. Station overview The station is a three-level, underground structure with two island platforms and nine exits. The two platforms are stacked, allowing for cross-platform interchange between the Songshan–Xindian line and the Zhonghe–Xinlu line. Public art at the station is titled "Chance of Meeting" and features 12 face masks representing contrasts such as day and night, noisy and quiet, time and space, etc. It was selected by international competition and cost NT$4,999,000. Taipei Metro (also known as Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and branded as Metro Taipei) is a rapid transit system operated by the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation serving the capital Taipei and New Taipei City in Taiwan. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. Thome Courtyard
The Thome Courtyard () is an art center in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The art center used to be one of the student dormitory of National Taiwan University and residence of philosopher Thome H. Fang (). The building was then renovated at a cost of NT$40 million. It was then opened to the public in November 2022. Architecture The art center is a Japanese architecture-style of building. It features a Japanese dry garden on the outside of the building. Leputing
The Leputing () is a restaurant in Daan District, Taipei, Da'an District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The restaurant building used to be the dormitory used by the officials of Forestry Bureau of the Taiwan under Japanese rule, Japanese government constructed in the 1920s. In 2013, the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Taipei City Government appointed Lead Jade Life & Culture to manage the abandoned building. Restoration works then commenced for 1.5 years. Architecture The 1-story restaurant building was constructed with Nishikicho Japanese-style architecture. It spreads over an area of 600 m2.
