Inferno Metal Festival is an annual extreme metal festival that takes place every year during Easter in Oslo, Norway. The festival was founded by Borknagar guitarist Jens F. Ryland in cooperation with Radar Booking in 2001 and takes place at Rockefeller Music Hall. Arcturus (band)
Arcturus is a Norwegian avant-garde metal, avant-garde/progressive metal band formed in 1991. They have continuously experimented throughout their career, drawing influences and incorporating elements from a wide range of musical styles, including black metal and classical music, while maintaining their roots as a metal outfit. The band has released five official full-length albums. Their name, which translates to "Bear Guardian", references the Behenian fixed star Arcturus. Gorgoroth
Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band based in Bergen. It was formed in 1992 by guitarist Infernus, who is the sole original member remaining, and has released nine studio albums. Gorgoroth are a Satanism, Satanic band and have drawn controversy due to some of their concerts, which have featured impaled sheep heads and mock crucifixions. The band is named after the dead plateau of darkness in the land of Mordor from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel ''The Lord of the Rings''. Hellhammer
Hellhammer was a Swiss extreme metal band from Nürensdorf, active from 1982 to 1984. Although the band's sound and style were heavily criticized and poorly reviewed during their active years, they have been widely praised in retrospect and are often regarded as a key influence on black metal. Kreator
Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Their current line-up consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Mille Petrozza, Miland "Mille" Petrozza, drummer Jürgen Reil, Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq. The band's line-up has changed multiple times throughout its -year career, most noticeably with their bassists and lead guitarists. Petrozza and Reil are the only two original members left in Kreator, although the latter had left the band in 1994 but rejoined in 1996. Yli-Sirniö has been the lead guitarist of Kreator since 2001, while Leclercq joined in 2019 as the replacement of Christian "Speesy" Giesler, who had been in the band since 1994. Djevel
Djevel is a Norwegian black metal band. Biography Djevel was founded in 2009 by Trånn Ciekals after he left his former band Ljå. Ciekals named the band after last song of Ljå's album ''Til avsky for livet'', titled ''Gjort til Djevel''. Originally intended to be a solo project, it became a full band after Erlend Hjelvik and Mannevond joining in 2011. Djevel released their first album ''Dødssanger'' on 13 June 2011. Hjorth played the drums on it as a session member. In 2012, Dirge Rep joined the band as a full-time drummer. Urgehal () is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Hønefoss in 1992 by lead guitarist/vocalist Trond Bråthen ('Trondr Nefas') and rhythm guitarist 'Enzifer'. Before their split up in 2016, they released seven full-length albums, four EPs and two demos. The band has since reformed in 2022, in honor of former members. History Urgehal was formed by Trondr Nefas and Enzifer in 1992. They released two demos in 1994 and 1995. Harakiri for the Sky is an Austrian post-black metal band formed in Salzburg and Vienna in 2011 by vocalist JJ (Michael "V. Wahntraum" Kogler) and multi-instrumentalist Matthias Sollak, formerly of black metal band Bifröst. Athanasios "Sakis" Tolis (; born 29 June 1972) is a Greek musician best known as the vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Rotting Christ. He is also known as Necromayhem. He has recently produced some of the band's albums and contributed as session keyboardist. Sakis has also provided guest vocals and guitars for a number of bands, for example providing guest backing vocals on the track ''Mocking Modesty'' on the Nightrage album '' Wearing a Martyr's Crown'' and additional vocals on Spanish North of South's single "Just Fourteen Seconds", taken from their ''The Tides in Our Veins'' album.
