Gregory Swallow is an American politician who has served as a member of the Maine House of Representatives since December 7, 2022. He represents Maine's 7th House district. Before entering politics, he worked as an insurance marketer. Electoral history Swallow was elected to the 114th district in the 2018 Maine House of Representatives election. He won the Republican primary but was replaced by Tracy Quint in the general election. He was redistricted to the 7th district and elected in the 2022 Maine House of Representatives election. Tracy Quint
Tracy Quint is an American politician from Hodgdon, Maine. She is currently serving in the Maine House of Representatives from the 8th district, having first been elected in 2020 from the Republican Party. Career Quint is a registered nurse. In September 2020, incumbent Representative Gregory Swallow withdrew from the race for the Maine House of Representatives seat from the 144th district after winning the Republican primary unopposed. Tracy Quint announced that she would seek the seat instead in early October, running as a Republican. Her platform emphasized combatting obesity, support for small businesses, and support for the Second Amendment. Quint won the election, defeating Democrat Kathryn Harnish with 68 percent of the vote. In March 2021, Quint introduced a bill that would ban mandates of the COVID-19 vaccine in Maine until 2024. Houlton, Maine
Houlton is a town in Aroostook County, Maine, on the Canada–United States border. As of the 2020 census, the town's population was 6,055. It is perhaps best known for being at the northern terminus of Interstate 95 and as the birthplace of Samantha Smith, a goodwill ambassador as a child during the Cold War. The town hosts the annual Houlton Agricultural Fair. Houlton is the county seat of Aroostook County, and as such its nickname is the "Shire Town". The Maine House of Representatives is the lower house of the Maine Legislature. The House consists of 151 voting members and three nonvoting members. The voting members represent an equal number of districts across the state and are elected via plurality voting. The nonvoting members represent three of Maine's Native American tribes, though two tribes have declined to send representatives. Each voting member of the House represents around 9,000 citizens of the state.
