Greenock Rangers F.C.
Rangers Football Club was a Scottish football team located in the town of Greenock, Renfrewshire. History The club was founded in 1881. Despite the existence of the already-famous Rangers in Glasgow, the Greenock club's official name was also simply Rangers, although the Scottish Football Association recorded it as Rangers (Greenock), and the media usually referred to the club as Greenock Rangers. It replaced Wellington Park at the ground of the same name. The club turned senior in 1884 by joining the Scottish Football Association. It entered the 1884–85 Scottish Cup, but was hammered 12–1 by Cartvale in the first round; its first entry into the Renfrewshire Cup was almost as disastrous, with an 11–1 home defeat to Neilston. It did however win a tie in the Greenock & District Charity Cup, 5–3 at 1st R.R.V.; it was the club's only competitive victory. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football (soccer), football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its Scottish football league system, football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. Port-Glasgow Athletic was a football club based in Port Glasgow, Scotland. The club was formed in 1878 and originally named Broadfield before changing their name in 1881. They played in the Scottish Football League between 1893 and 1911, and were based at Clune Park. Originally the town name was spelled Port-Glasgow, with a hyphen, this style was dropped after WW2. Pollokshaws ( sco, Powkshaws) is an area on the South side of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is bordered by the residential neighbourhoods of Auldhouse to the east, Eastwood and Hillpark to the south and Shawlands to the north, with the Glasgow South Western Line railway and the open lands of Pollok Country Park to the west. The White Cart Water flows through the area. The housing stock consists of some sandstone tenement housing, modern brick tenement-style buildings, low-rise social housing and high rise/multi-storey tower blocks.
