Grant Noel
David Grant Noel (born June 11, 1980) is a former American football quarterback who played college football at Virginia Tech. He briefly played for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). Early life Noel was born on June 11, 1980, in Ridgeley, West Virginia. He was ranked the number two ranked quarterback in the northeast by PrepStar and he was named a top fifteen quarterback in the northeast by the G&W Recruiting Report out of Frankfort High School. He committed to Virginia Tech in 1998. College career In 1998, Noel was redshirted. In 1999 and 2000, Noel backed up future first overall pick Michael Vick. In those two years as a backup to Vick, Virginia Tech went 11–1 in 1999 and an appearance in the Sugar Bowl, in 2000, the team went 11–1 again and won the Gator Bowl. Gator Bowl
The Gator Bowl is an annual college football bowl game held in Jacksonville, Florida, usually contested on or around New Year's Day. It has been held continuously since 1946, making it the sixth oldest college bowl, as well as the first televised nationally. The game was originally played at Gator Bowl Stadium through the December 1993 game. The December 1994 game was played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville after the namesake stadium was demolished to make way for a replacement venue, Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. That venue, now known as EverBank Stadium, has been home to the Gator Bowl since the January 1996 game. The 2000 NCAA Division I-A football season ended with the Oklahoma Sooners beating the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles to claim the Sooners' seventh national championship and their thirty-seventh conference championship, the first of each since the 1988 departure of head coach Barry Switzer. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops was in his second season as head coach, having been the defensive coordinator of Steve Spurrier's 1996 National Champion Florida Gators, and also having helped Bill Snyder turn the Kansas State Wildcats around in the early 1990s. 1999 NCAA Division I-A Football Season
The 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season saw Florida State named national champions, defeating Virginia Tech in the BCS Sugar Bowl. Florida State became the first team in history to start out preseason No. 1 and remain there through the entire season. Their 12–0 season gave them 109 victories in the '90s, the most for any decade. Ernest Wilford
Ernest Lee Wilford Jr. (born January 14, 1979) is an American former professional football wide receiver. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL draft. He played college football at Virginia Tech. He is currently a sheriffs deputy with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Wilford also played for the Miami Dolphins. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of a pair of cruciate ligaments (the other being the posterior cruciate ligament) in the human knee. The two ligaments are called "cruciform" ligaments, as they are arranged in a crossed formation.
