Gopala Krishna () refers to a form of the Hindu deity Krishna, as featured in the Harivamsha and the Puranas. The narratives of Gopala Krishna are set in the cowherd settlement of the Vraja region called Gokulam, where he is raised by his foster-parents, Nanda and Yashoda. Historically one of the earliest forms of worship in Krishnaism, it is believed to be a key element of the early history of the worship of Krishna. This tradition is considered separate from the associated traditions of Bala Krishna and Radha Krishna, that led to amalgamation under Bhagavatism at a later stage of historical development. Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya (), (2 June 1889 – 10 June 1928) was an Indian freedom fighter and member of the Indian National Congress from the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Known by his title of Andhra Ratna (Telugu: ఆంధ్ర రత్న, translates to "Jewel of Andhra" or "Gem of Andhra." Sri Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya, Gopalakrishnayya was the first Andhra leader to become secretary of the All India Congress Committee. Vavilala Gopalakrishnayya
Vavilala Gopalakrishnayya (1906 – 29 April 2003) was a legislator in the 1950s and 1960s and religiously followed the Gandhian philosophy. Biography Born in 1906 at Sattenapalle in Guntur District of Andhra, he started his career as a journalist but became involved in the freedom struggle. After Independence, he was elected to the assembly of the Madras Presidency in 1952, the Andhra State assembly in 1955, and the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1962 and 1967 from Sattenapalli. On all four occasions, he was elected as an independent with the support of the undivided Communist Party of India. He was also associated with the cooperative movement and the library movement in Andhra Pradesh. In his long political life, Vavilala participated in almost all major agitations in the state, including the Vishalandhra movement for the formation of Andhra Pradesh in the mid-1950s, the Nandigonda project agitation in Guntur, and farmers' agitations.
