Good Times (Subway Album)
''Good Times'' is the only studio album by Subway, released on January 24, 1995 through a joint venture of Motown and Michael Bivins' Biv 10 Records. The album is best known for its lead single " This Lil' Game We Play", a duet with labelmates, 702. The song became a top 20 hit for the group and was certified gold during the summer of 1995. Despite the success of the single, however, the album was unable to achieve the same amount of success, only reaching number 101 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Subway was an American contemporary R&B group, which featured Keith Thomas and his brother Trerail Puckett, and their close friends, Eric McNeal and Roy Jones. The group was signed by Michael Bivins (of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe) to his Motown-distributed label Biv 10. They debuted in 1995 with the hit single " This Lil' Game We Play" featuring labelmates 702 that reached #15 on the ''Billboard'' charts. Biv 10 Records was founded by Michael Bivins in 1992, through a joint venture with Motown Records. History In the early 1990s, Bivins’ Biv Entertainment management firm scored multiple successes with developing new acts (Boyz II Men, Another Bad Creation, and MC Brains) in conjunction with Motown Records. As a result, Motown bankrolled Bivins his own imprint, Biv 10 Records. The company's logo featured an outline of a hand holding a basketball with the name ‘BIV 10’ printed on the hand above the wrist. While the label went on to score minor success with teen R&B groups Subway and 702, significant success largely evaded the company. The more prominent acts that Bivins had been responsible for, like Boyz II Men, were established before the commencement of the Biv 10 label, and were instead signed to Motown directly—where they remained after the launch. Dinky Bingham
Dinky Bingham (born Osborne Gould Bingham, Jr., 1963 in Jamaica, Queens, New York) is an American singer, musician, songwriter, producer, and engineer. Biography Raised in Jamaica, Queens, and now based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bingham is the son of a preacher. He started in the music industry as a pianist and vocalist in 1982 for the then-new Phonogram studios, where he recorded several tracks on the ''White Soul'' album project with underground jazz artists. In 1985, he joined the Christian group New Witness. Gerald Edward Levert (July 13, 1966 – November 10, 2006) was an American singer-songwriter and producer. Levert was best known for singing with his brother, Sean Levert, and friend Marc Gordon of the vocal group LeVert. Levert was also a member of LSG, a supergroup comprising Keith Sweat, Johnny Gill, and himself. Levert is the son of Eddie Levert, who is the lead singer of the R&B/soul vocal group the O'Jays. He released nine solo albums, six with LeVert, two with his father Eddie Levert, two with LSG, as well as discovering the R&B groups the Rude Boys, Men at Large and 1 of the Girls. "This Lil' Game We Play" is the lead single released from Subway's only album, ''Good Times''. 702 (pronounced ''"Seven-Oh-Two"''), named after the area code of their hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, is an American girl group, with the final and most known line-up consisting of Kameelah Williams and sisters Irish and LeMisha Grinstead.
