Good Morning America Weekend
''Good Morning America Weekend'' (often abbreviated as ''GMA Weekend'') is an American morning television program that is broadcast on ABC. It is the Saturday and Sunday edition of ''Good Morning America'', with the regular Monday through Friday edition currently being hosted by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopolous, Michael Strahan, and ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee. The first weekend edition of ''Good Morning America'' premiered on January 3, 1993, airing only on Sundays; it was hosted at various points by Willow Bay, Aaron Brown, John Hockenberry, Dana King, Lisa McRee, Antonio Mora, Kevin Newman and Bill Ritter. The program was cancelled on February 28, 1999. In August 2010, Bill Weir left the weekend edition to become co-anchor of ''Nightline''; Marysol Castro left the show the following month. Aaron Brown (journalist)
Aaron Brown (November 10, 1948 – December 29, 2024) was an American broadcast journalist most recognized for his coverage of the September 11 attacks for CNN. He was a longtime reporter for ABC, the founding host of ABC's '' World News Now'', weekend anchor of '' World News Tonight'', and the host of CNN's flagship evening program '' NewsNight with Aaron Brown.'' He was the anchor of the PBS documentary series '' Wide Angle'' from 2008 to 2009. Robert Mark Marciano (born June 25, 1968) is an American journalist and meteorologist with CBS News. He was employed by ABC News from 2014 until 2024. Marciano provided forecasts for the weekend editions of ''Good Morning America'', a position Ginger Zee vacated when she was chosen to succeed Sam Champion on the daily editions of ''GMA''. Daniel B. Harris (born July 26, 1971) is a retired American journalist for ABC News. He was an anchor for ''Nightline'' and co-anchor of the weekend edition of ''Good Morning America''. William Sheldon "Bill" Ritter (born February 26, 1950) is an American television news anchor and journalist. He has been with WABC-TV in New York City since 1998, initially anchoring on weekends before succeeding Bill Beutel on the 11 p.m. news in September 1999, then at 6 p.m. in February 2001. He is also a correspondent for the ABC News program '' 20/20''. Kevin Newman (born June 2, 1959) is a Canadian journalist and news anchor. From 2001 to 2010, he was the chief anchor and executive editor of ''Global National''. Antonio Mora (born December 14, 1957) is a multiple Emmy Award winning journalist and television news anchor. He is best known for his years at ABC News, including his four years as the news anchor and chief correspondent for ''Good Morning America''. He was also a prime-time anchor on Al Jazeera America where he hosted an interview show called '' Consider This''. He was the first Hispanic American male to anchor a primetime newscast in Chicago and one of the only Hispanic American males to anchor a national broadcast news show.
