Ted Koppel
Edward James Martin Koppel (born February 8, 1940) is an American broadcast Journalism, journalist, best known as the News presenter, anchor for ''Nightline'', from the program's inception in 1980 until 2005. Before ''Nightline'', he spent 20 years as a broadcast journalist and news anchor for American Broadcasting Company, ABC. After becoming host of ''Nightline'', he was regarded as one of the outstanding serious-minded interviewers on American television. Five years after its 1980 debut, the show had a nightly audience of about 7.5 million viewers. After leaving ''Nightline'', Koppel worked as managing editor for the Discovery Channel, a news analyst for NPR and BBC World News America and a contributor to ''Rock Center with Brian Williams''. Hyunju "Juju" Chang (born September 17, 1965) is an American television journalist for ABC News, and an anchor of ''Nightline''. She has previously worked as a special correspondent and fill-in anchor for ''Nightline,'' and was also the news anchor for ABC News' morning news program ''Good Morning America'' from 2009 to 2011. Byron Pitts (born October 21, 1960) is an American journalist and author, working for ABC News as co-anchor for the network's late night news program, ''Nightline''. Until March 2013, he served as a chief national correspondent for '' The CBS Evening News'' and contributed regularly to ''60 Minutes''. Roone Pinckney Arledge Jr. (July 8, 1931 – December 5, 2002) was an American sports and news broadcasting executive who was president of ABC Sports from 1968 until 1986 and ABC News from 1977 until 1998, and a key part of the company's rise to competition with the two other main television networks, NBC and CBS, in the 1960s, '70s, '80s and '90s.
