Golden Arms Redemption
''Golden Arms Redemption'' is the debut solo studio album by American rapper U-God. It was released on October 19, 1999 via Wu-Tang/Priority Records. Recording sessions took place at Quad Recording Studios, at Studio 57, at Unique Recording Studios and at 36 Chambers in New York, and at Studios South in Miami. Production was handled by True Master, Inspectah Deck, Homicide, Bink!, Hak Da Navigator, John The Baptist, Omonte "O" Ward, and RZA, who also served as executive producer together with U-God. It features guest appearances from Leatha Face, Hell Razah, Inspectah Deck, Method Man, Raekwon and Drey Wit Da Y. The album peaked at number 58 on the Billboard 200 and number 15 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States. It spawned two singles: "Bizarre" and "Dat's Gangsta". U-God
Lamont Jody Hawkins (born November 10, 1970), better known as U-God, is an American rapper and member of the hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. He has been with the group since its inception, and is known for his deep voice and rhythmic flow that can alternate between gruff and smooth. Early life Hawkins was born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York City. He moved to Staten Island as a youth. He was originally a beatboxer for Cappadonna, and was friends with future members Method Man, Inspectah Deck and childhood friend of Raekwon. Sometime before the members united, U-God was mentored in rap by Cappadonna. He soon became friends with RZA and Ghostface Killah, and he began rhyming under the alias Golden Arms, based on the Kung-Fu movie '' Kid with the Golden Arm''. Immobilarity
''Immobilarity'' is the second studio album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan-member Raekwon, as a follow-up to '' Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...''. It was released in November 1999 on Loud Records, and peaked in the Top 10 of the US album charts. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 20, 1999. Background Unlike the first album, it has no production input from the RZA, or any guest features from Ghostface Killah, for the album has its own theme. However, the album does feature Method Man and Masta Killa. Raekwon has stated that the title is an acronym for "I Move More Officially by Implementing Loyalty and Respect in the Youth". Far Cry (Marvin Gaye Song)
"Far Cry" is the infamous unfinished recording that was included on singer Marvin Gaye's 1981 final Motown album, '' In Our Lifetime''. The song, essentially a funk-styled instrumental, featured a vocally conscious Gaye mouthing words while playing multiple instruments, including the drums and keyboards, on the first part of the song. The brief second half features a jazz instrumental with Gaye playing piano and drums and singing in falsetto, while his fellow instrumentalists, bassist Frank Blair and guitarist Gordon Banks, accompany him. The song's release among the eight original recordings on ''In Our Lifetime'' angered Marvin to the point where he severed ties with Motown, his home for twenty years, leaving the label for Columbia. Marvin Gaye
Marvin Pentz Gay Jr., who also spelled his surname as Gaye (April 2, 1939 – April 1, 1984), was an American singer and songwriter. Chron Smith (born October 1, 1976), better known by his stage name Hell Razah, is an American rapper. He is best known as a member of Sunz of Man, an early affiliate group of the Wu-Tang Clan.
