Glaize Creek
Glaize Creek (also called Grand Glaize Creek) is a stream in Jefferson County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Mississippi River. The stream headwaters arise at just east of Missouri Route 21. The stream flows east-southeast roughly paralleling Missouri Route M and passes under I-55 north of Barnhart then passing under US Route 61 to its confluence with the Mississippi River adjacent to Sulphur Springs at . Jefferson County, Missouri
Jefferson County is located in the eastern portion of the state of Missouri. It is a part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 226,739, making it the sixth-most populous county in Missouri. Its county seat is Hillsboro. Missouri Route 21
Route 21 is a highway in eastern Missouri. Its northern terminus is at Route 30 in Affton. Its southern terminus is at the Arkansas state line (where it continues as Highway 115). In the St. Louis area, it is known as Tesson Ferry Road, which was named after the 19th century proprietor of the ferry across the Meramec River. The section through northern Jefferson County, Missouri was considered dangerous. As a result, the road was rerouted and built to freeway standards. Construction to reroute the highway to just south of Hillsboro was completed on December 15, 2008 and Route 21 is currently freeway standard from Route 141 to Highway B. Plans to extend the freeway south to DeSoto have been approved, but funds are lacking to complete this part of the project. Sulphur Springs, Missouri
Sulphur Springs is an unincorporated community in eastern Jefferson County, Missouri, United States. It is located near Barnhart, bordering the banks of Glaize Creek and the Mississippi River. Sulphur Springs was platted in 1860, and named for a sulphur spring near the original town site. A post office was established at Sulphur Springs in 1837, and remained in operation until 1990.
