Giorgi Oniani
Giorgi Oniani ( ka, გიორგი ონიანი; born 7 September 1983) is a Georgian retired football defender, who currently works as the head coach of Gagra. Career Born in Tbilisi, Oniani began his career with FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi. He made a debut in a 5–0 away win over Margveti Zestaponi. In January 2006, he moved to FC Dinamo Batumi and after six months joined FC Olimpi Rustavi In January 2007, he transferred to FC Sioni Bolnisi, but stayed only half a year. He then moved to FC Carl Zeiss Jena in July 2007, He left Jena after one year and moved to Spartak Nalchik. Oniani spent most successful time at Zestaponi, where he won four trophies, including the national league twice. Torpedo Kutaisi was the last club he played for. On 10 April 2013, during a Georgian Cup quarterfinal game against Sioni Bolnisi, Oniani crashed into a protective pole for nets and lost consciousness. Georgian Super Cup
The Georgian Super Cup is a super cup tournament in Georgian football. Founded in 1996 as a two-team competition, the current version has been contested since 2023 by four teams, those being the first, second, and third placed teams in the Erovnuli Liga, as well as the winners of the Georgian Cup. Formerly, the tournament used to be a single football match solely played between the champions of the Erovnuli Liga and the winners of the Georgian Cup. When a club had won both competitions, the Georgian Cup losing finalists play for the Super Cup. This occurred in 1996, 1997, 2013 and 2014 when Dinamo Tbilisi won the double on all four occasions. The 2011–12 Georgian Cup (also known as the ''David Kipiani Cup'') was the sixty-eighth season overall and the twenty-second since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The Georgian Cup ( ka, საქართველოს თასი) is the main annual association football knockout cup competition in Georgia. It is organized by the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) and is open to clubs of all divisions. 2011–12 Umaglesi Liga
The 2011–12 Umaglesi Liga was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 6 August 2011 and ended on 21 May 2012. The league added two teams for this season, increasing its size from ten to twelve teams. The league was won by Zestaponi, who successfully defended their title. Metalurgi Rustavi, Torpedo Kutaisi and Dila Gori qualified for the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League, while Spartaki Tskhinvali and Gagra were relegated. Changes from 2010–11 season The league expanded from ten to twelve teams for this season. In order to accommodate the additional teams, the competition mode was changed from a single-phase, quadruple round-robin schedule to a double-phase championship. 2010–11 Umaglesi Liga
The 2010–11 Umaglesi Liga was the 22nd season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 14 August 2010 and ended on 22 May 2011. Olimpi Rustavi are the defending champions, having won their second Georgian championship last season. FC Zestaponi claimed their first title. The league size was expanded from 10 teams in that season to 12 teams in following season. Therefore, there was no direct relegation to the Pirveli Liga in that season. Teams Lokomotivi Tbilisi and Gagra were relegated to Pirveli Liga at the end of last season after finishing in 9th and 10th place respectively. The Georgian Erovnuli Liga 2 ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა 2; ), organized since 1990 by the GFF, serves as the second division of professional football in Georgia. The league was introduced for the 2017 season under the current name as a part of reorganization process of the entire league system. It was formerly known as Pirveli liga (the First league). Structure There are ten clubs competing in Erovnuli Liga 2. During the season each club plays each other four times, twice at home and twice away. At the end of each season the winner gains automatic promotion and the bottom club is relegated. FC Sioni ('' Georgian:'' საფეხბურთო კლუბი სიონი) is a Georgian professional football club based in Bolnisi. They compete in Erovnuli Liga Liga 2, the second tier of the Georgian league system.
