Gimme Ted
''Gimme Ted'', or more fully ''Gimme Ted – The Ted Mulry Benefit Concerts'', is an Australian 2×DVD video and tribute album by Various Artists, which was released on 19 May 2003. It was recorded at two eponymous benefit concerts on 9 and 10 March 2001, with "some of Australia's finest musicians from the past and present" as well as "One-off reunions of classic bands." The artists were honouring rock musician Ted Mulry, who had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in the previous year. The shows were compèred by Glenn A. Baker, Donnie Sutherland and Ray Burgess. Mulry's backing band, the Ted Mulry Gang (TMG) performed on both nights with his brother Steve Mulry substituting on lead vocals. Disney Studios Australia (formerly Fox Studios Australia) is a motion picture and television production facility in Sydney that has operated as part of The Walt Disney Company since 2019. Kent Music Report
The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts. Before the Kent Report, '' Go-Set'' magazine published weekly Top-40 Singles from 1966, and Album charts from 1970 until the magazine's demise in August 1974. "I Hate the Music" is a pop song written by George Young and Harry Vanda and recorded by Australian pop singer John Paul Young. The song was released in March 1976 as the lead single from the singer's second studio album, '' J.P.Y.'' (1976). It peaked at number 2 on the Kent Music Report in Australia, remaining on the chart for 20 weeks. It was certified gold in Australia. It reached number 1 on the South African singles chart. In 1998, the song was covered by Ratcat and John Paul Young for the '' Occasional Coarse Language'' soundtrack. John Paul Young
John Inglis Young, OAM (born 21 June 1950), known professionally as John Paul Young, is a Scottish-born Australian pop singer who had his 1978 worldwide hit with " Love Is in the Air". His career was boosted by regular appearances as a performer and guest host on national broadcaster, ABC's 1974–1987 TV series, '' Countdown''. Vanda & Young
Vanda & Young were an Australian songwriting and producing duo composed of Harry Vanda and George Young. They performed as members of 1960s Australian rock group the Easybeats where Vanda was their lead guitarist and backing singer and Young was their rhythm guitarist and backing singer. Vanda & Young songwriter, co-wrote most of the Easybeats' later chart-topper, hits including their international hit "Friday on My Mind" and they were the record producers for the group from 1967.
