Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi
Ghulam Mustafa ‘Joseph’Jatoi (Sindhi:غلام مصطفا جتوئي) ( ur, ) (14 August 1931 – 20 November 2009) was a Pakistani politician who served as the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan for three months, from 6 August 1990 to 6 November 1990. Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi's ancestors were Murids of the Pir's of Sarhandi. Early life Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi was born in New Jatoi, Naushehro Feroze District, Sindh. He was the eldest of four brothers, and his grandfather, Khan Bahadur Imam Bux Khan Jatoi, was a member of the Bombay Legislative Assembly in 1923, 1927 and 1931. At the time there were only four members representing the entire present Province of Sindh. His father Ghulam Rasool Jatoi was a member of the Sindh Legislative Assembly twice in 1946 and again 1952, after which one unit was imposed in West Pakistan. The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan ( ur, ) is the acting head of government in Pakistan following the dissolution of the National Assembly. The purpose of this post is to ensure free and fair elections are held. Pir (Sufism)
Peer or Pir ( fa, پیر, lit=elder) is a title for a Sufi spiritual guide. They are also referred to as a ''Hazrat'' (from ar, حضرة, Haḍra) and ''Sheikh'' or Shaykh, which is literally the Arabic equivalent. The title is often translated into English as "saint." In Sufism a Pir's role is to guide and instruct his disciples on the Sufi path. This is often done by general lessons (called ''Suhbas'') and individual guidance. In Sufism, a ''murīd'' (Arabic مُرِيد 'one who seeks') is a novice committed to spiritual enlightenment by ''sulūk'' (traversing a path) under a spiritual guide, who may take the title murshid, ''pir'' or '' shaykh''. A ''sālik'' or Sufi follower only becomes a ''murīd'' when he makes a pledge (''bayʿah'') to a ''murshid''. The equivalent Persian term is ''shāgird''. Liaquat Ali Jatoi ( ur, ; born 5 January 1948) is a Pakistani politician who was Chief Minister of Sindh during 1997–1998. Political career Liaquat Jatoi was first elected to the National Assembly in 1977. However, this Assembly was dissolved by General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq within a few weeks of the elections. During Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq's rule, Jatoi served as member of the Federal Council (Majlis-e-Shoora) in 1980–81. Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi (; born 4 September 1958) is a Pakistani politician who served as Minister for Industries and Production, in Abbasi cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018.
