Ghost Stories (Amanda Ghost Album)
''Ghost Stories'' is the debut studio album by English singer-songwriter Amanda Ghost. It was released on 22 August 2000 by Warner Bros. Records. In the United States, it was released on 12 September 2000. Ghost began working on the album after she got signed to Warner Bros. by A&R executive Andrew Wickham. He offered her a record deal after listening to a CD demo of hers left with him by her manager Terry Slater. Ghost worked with Lukas Burton and Paul Staveley O'Duffy on the album while writing all the songs. Musically, ''Ghost Stories'' is predominantly an alternative rock album influenced by electronica and trip hop. It also incorporates elements of other genres, such as trance, breakbeat and classical music. ''Ghost Stories'' received generally positive reviews from music critics. Amanda Ghost
Amanda Louisa Gosein-Cameron (born 10 July 1974), known professionally as Amanda Ghost, is a British entertainment executive, songwriter and singer. She was the president of Epic Records from 2009 until 2010. Ghost is a three-time Ivor Novello Award winner, a Golden Globe nominee, and worked on five songs and albums that have been nominated for Grammy Awards. Early career (1997–2014) At the age of 19, Ghost began writing songs with Ian Dench. In 1997, she contributed her version of Gary Numan's "Absolution" to the tribute album ''Random''. Sacha Skarbek is a British songwriter and producer. He is best known for co-writing James Blunt's hit singles "You're Beautiful" and " Goodbye My Lover" as well as Miley Cyrus' hit song "Wrecking Ball". Ian Alec Harvey Dench (born 7 August 1964) is an English songwriter and musician. He is the guitarist and principal songwriter for EMF, who scored a major international hit reaching number 1 in the United States with " Unbelievable" in 1991. It was voted one of BBC Radio 2's 'Greatest Guitar Riffs'. Early life Ian Alec Harvey Dench was born in Cheltenham. His father, Harold Dench, taught Ian classical guitar.
