Ghaffar Djalal
Ghaffar Jalal ( fa, غفار جلال علاء, was an Iranian diplomat. Career From 1907 to 1920 he was secretary in the Persian Legation in London while his uncle Mehdi Ala al-Saltaneh was Persian minister to the Court of St James's there. From 1921 to 1922 he was minister in Stockholm. From 1924 to 1928 he was minister in Cairo. From 1928 to 1930 he was minister in Rome. From 1930 to June 12, 1933 he headed the English Section of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. On June 12, 1933, he was accredited by Franklin D. Roosevelt. On Nowruz 1935, the diplomatic corps in Tehran was informed that the official name of Persia from now on was Iran. Cordell Hull
Cordell Hull (October 2, 1871July 23, 1955) was an American politician from Tennessee and the longest-serving U.S. Secretary of State, holding the position for 11 years (1933–1944) in the administration of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt during most of World War II. Before that appointment he represented Tennessee for two years in the United States Senate and twenty-two years in the House of Representatives. Hull received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1945 for his role in establishing the United Nations, and was referred to by President Roosevelt as the "Father of the United Nations". Elkton, Maryland
Elkton is a town in and the county seat of Cecil County, Maryland, United States. The population was 15,443 at the 2010 census. It was formerly called Head of Elk because it sits at the head of navigation on the Elk River, which flows into the nearby Chesapeake Bay. Elkton was once known as the Gretna Green of the East of the US because of its popularity as a place for eloping couples to marry. History The town was founded by Swedish mariners and fisherman from Fort Casimir who settled the area in 1694. They called their settlement Head of Elk, as it was the head of navigation of the Elk River. The town saw several actions during the American Revolutionary War.
