Artists who released material on Get Low Recordz included JT himself, Get Low Playaz, San Quinn, The Game and D-Moe. In 1995, the label entered a distribution deal with Priority Records, which lasted for one year. The label was involved in a feud with Memphis Bleek's record label of the same name. Memphis Bleek
Malik Deshawn Cox (born June 23, 1978), known by his stage name Memphis Bleek, is an American rapper. He is best known for his affiliation with fellow New York City-based rapper Jay-Z, with Cox often described as his hype man and protégé. Cox signed with his Roc-A-Fella Records label imprint in the late 1990s, through which he has released four major label studio albums: ''Coming of Age'' (1999), '' The Understanding'' (2000), '' M.A.D.E.'' (2003), and '' 534'' (2005). He has since founded his own labels: Get Low Records in 1998, and Warehouse Music Group in 2016—through which he signed rapper Casanova. Hip-hop or hip hop (originally disco rap) is a popular music genre that emerged in the early 1970s from the African-American community of New York City. The style is characterized by its synthesis of a wide range of musical techniques. Hip-hop includes rapping often enough that the terms can be used synonymously. Marvin Watson Jr. (born March 19, 1976), better known by his stage name Messy Marv, is an American rapper from San Francisco, California. Messy was also known as a collaborator in the rap group Kaalman's Krew. Career Messy Marv released his first rap album, ''Messy Situationz'', in 1996. ''Explosive Mode'', his 1998 collaboration album with San Quinn, sold more than 50,000 copies. In 2005, Messy Marv started his own record label, Scalen LLC, and released a barrage of albums in 2004-2006. During the Hyphy, Hyphy movement, his songs "Get on My Hype" and "So Hood" received frequent radio airplay. Get Low Records
Get Low Records is a hip hop record label founded by Memphis Bleek in 1998. History Beginnings Under the guidance of Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek founded his label, Get Low Records, in 1998. The label's first release was Memphis Bleek's gold debut, '' The Coming of Age.'' This gained the label some notoriety. During the year 2000, the label began their long-running feud with Nas. The following year, Get Low released Bleek's second album '' The Understanding,'' another gold release. After the release of this album, the feud with Nas became public and distributing label, Roc-A-Fella Records quickly came to their defense setting up the epic Jay-Z vs. Nas feud. In the time between Memphis Bleek's second and third albums, he signed former Junior M.A.F.I.A. member, Lil' Cease to the label. He would also sign Geda K. San Quinn
Quincy Adams Brooks, known professionally as San Quinn, is an American rapper from San Francisco, California. He is the cousin of Messy Marv, Stevie Johnson, and Ya Boy. Early life Brooks was born in Oakland, and grew up in the Fillmore District of San Francisco since the age of three. He attended George Washington High School. Career Brooks made his first rap appearance as an opening act for 2Pac and Digital Underground at the age of 12. He recorded his first album at 15 years old. In addition to a solo career, Brooks is also a member of the San Francisco rap group Get Low Playaz with JT The Bigga Figga, D-Moe, and Seff Tha Gaffla.
