Georgina Sophie Twigg (born 21 November 1990) is an English international field hockey player and an Olympic gold medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Hockey career She plays club hockey in the Women's England Hockey League Premier Division for Surbiton. Twigg played as a midfielder for England and Great Britain from 2010 to 2016. Women's Hockey World Cup
The Women's FIH Hockey World Cup is the field hockey World Cup competition for women, whose format for qualification and the final tournament is similar to the men's. It has been held since 1974. The tournament has been organized by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) since they merged with the International Federation of Women's Hockey Associations (IFWHA) in 1982. Since 1986, it has been held regularly once every four years, in the same year as the men's competition, which is mid-cycle between Summer Olympic games. Of the fourteen tournaments held so far, only four teams have won the event. Netherlands is by far the most successful team, having won the title nine times. Cannock Hockey Club are an English professional field hockey team. They were established in 1905, and are based in the village of Hatherton, near Cannock, Staffordshire. Both the men's and women's first teams play in the England Hockey League Premier Division, the top division of hockey in England. Clifton Robinsons Hockey Club
Clifton Robinsons Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at Westbury-on-Trym in Bristol. It was formed by the merging of Clifton Ladies Hockey Club and Robinsons Hockey Club. The clubs had shared close links for many years, sharing pitches, umpires, coaches and annual dinners and in summer 2016 joined to form a single club. The Ladies' 1st XI play in the Women's England Hockey League and the Men's 1st XI play in the Men's England Hockey League. The club fields five ladies' and six men's league sides and junior teams. The Women's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by England Hockey that features women's teams from England. From 2011-2020 it was sponsored by Investec and was referred to as the Investec Women's Hockey League. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of 12 teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. The 2011 Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship was the 10th edition of the women's field hockey championship organised by the European Hockey Federation.
