''Generations'' is an American soap opera that aired on NBC in the United States from March 27, 1989, to January 25, 1991, and in Canada, where it ran on CBC Television. The show was groundbreaking in that it was the first soap opera to feature a Black Americans, Black-American family from its inception. Elinor Donahue (born Mary Eleanor Donahue; April 19, 1937) is an American retired actress known for playing the role of Betty Anderson, the eldest child of Jim and Margaret Anderson, on the 1950s American sitcom ''Father Knows Best''. Early life and career Donahue was born in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Doris Genevieve (née Gelbaugh) and Thomas William Donahue on April 19, 1937. Appearing in dancing-chorus film roles from the age of five, Donahue was at one point a ballet-school classmate of future Fred Astaire partner Barrie Chase. Deborah Ann "Debbi" Morgan is an American film and television actress. Sharon Catherine Brown (born January 11, 1962), also known as Sharon Catherine Blanks, is an American actress of stage, film, and television. Jack Betts, also credited as Hunt Powers, is an American character actor. He has acted in film, on stage, and on television. He starred in several Spaghetti western films such as '' Sugar Colt''. Career Betts was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. When he was 10 years old, he and his family moved to Miami, Florida. He auditioned for a talent contest on WIOD. Michael Gore
Michael Gore (born March 5, 1951) is an American composer. He is the younger brother of singer Lesley Gore. Biography A 1969 graduate of the Dwight-Englewood School, Gore received the school's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2004. Ronald Robert Harper (January 12, 1933 – March 21, 2024) was an American television and film actor. Life and career Ronald Robert Harper was born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. After earning straight A's at Turtle Creek High School, he went to Princeton University, where he was a member of the University Players. Robert Gentry (September 29, 1940 – September 17, 2022) was an American actor known for his work on daytime soap operas. Career Gentry was one of the actors to play Ed Bauer on ''Guiding Light''.
