Karl Gebhardt
Karl Franz Gebhardt (23 November 1897 – 2 June 1948) was a Nazi physician and a war criminal. Gebhardt was the main coordinator of a series of medical atrocities performed on inmates of the concentration camps at Ravensbrück and Auschwitz. These experiments were an attempt to defend his approach to the surgical management of grossly contaminated traumatic wounds, against the then-new innovations of antibiotic treatment of injuries acquired on the battlefield. During the Subsequent Nuremberg Trials, Gebhardt stood trial in the Doctors' trial (American Military Tribunal No. I). He was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity and sentenced to death on 20 August 1947. He was hanged on 2 June 1948, in Landsberg Prison in Bavaria. Michael William "Gebi" Gebhardt (born November 25, 1965) is a former professional and Olympic windsurfer from the United States, who competed in five consecutive Summer Olympics, in the Olympic sailing discipline/event of windsurfing. He was born in Columbus, Ohio. In the summer of 1981, at the age of 15, Gebhardt learned to windsurf in his back yard in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Living on Okaloosa Islands waterfront, Gebi spent most of his adolescent days in the water; swimming, surfing, waterskiing, freediving, fishing and sailing Hobie beach cats and weekend cruising on his dad's 50 foot all wooden schooner sailboat, "The Pele". Franz Karl Eduard von Gebhardt (13 June 1838 – 3 February 1925) was a Baltic German painter of portraits and historical scenes, and a professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Biography He was born to Ferdinand Theodor von Gebhardt (1803–1869), Provost (religion), Provost and member of the Consistory (Protestantism), Consistorial Council in Tallinn, Reval, and his wife, Wilhelmine, née Von Glehn (1808–1880). He graduated from the local Gymnasium (school), gymnasium at sixteen, and enrolled at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, where he studied for three years. He then spent two years travelling, spending some time in Karlsruhe, where he took classes at the Academy of Fine Arts, Karlsruhe, Academy of Fine Arts. Dixie Cornell Gebhardt
Dixie Cornell Gebhardt (November 18, 1866 – October 16, 1955) was an American state regent and secretary of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in Iowa during World War I, and designed the flag for the U. S. state of Iowa. At the beginning of the war, Iowa had no state flag, and such a flag would have been expected to be carried by regiments from that state. (As the war progressed, however, it became obvious that regiments comprising men from individual states would no longer be formed.) Gebhardt's flag design was chosen from among several submissions by Governor William L. Harding and the Iowa Council on National Defense. It became the official flag of the state in 1921. Stanisław Mieczysław Gebhardt (13 July 1928 – 27 February 2025) was a Polish resistance fighter, economist, émigré political activist, international social entrepreneur and veteran member of the Christian democratic movement. Deborah L Gebhardt is an American scientist focusing on issues related to health, fitness and workplace health safety. Gebhardt was also a college basketball and softball coach. Gebhardt was the first coach for both the softball and women's basketball teams at the University of California, Berkeley. She coached Purdue's first women's basketball team. Håkon Gebhardt (born 21 June 1969 in Trondheim, Norway) is a Norwegian musician, multi-instrumentalist and record producer living in Trondheim. Career Gebhardt developed his musical interests when he attended the Music program at Kongsbakken videregående skole and Trøndertun folkehøgskole. He is best known as the drummer in Motorpsycho (1991–2005). Miriam Gebhardt (born 28 January 1962) is a German historian and writer. Life Gebhardt was born in Freiburg, Germany and trained as a journalist. From 1982, she worked as an editor. From 1988 to 1993 she studied social and economic history, regional history and modern German literature at Munich University. In 1988 she obtained a doctorate in Modern History under Clemens Wischermann at the University of Münster with a thesis on family memories. From 2003 Gebhardt held an academic post at Collaborative Research Centre 485 (Norm and Symbol) at the University of Konstanz, where she obtained her habilitation in Modern and Contemporary History in July 2008.
