Ge You (born April 19, 1957) is a Chinese actor. A native of Beijing, often with a bald shaven pate, he is considered by many to be one of the most recognizable acting personalities in China. He became the first Asian actor to win the Cannes Best Actor Award for his role in the Zhang Yimou movie '' To Live''. Career Ge You's father, Ge Cunzhuang, came from an older generation of film actors. Since the 1950s, he has played a large number of characters, largely villains. ''Spicy Love Soup'' () is a 1997 Chinese film directed by Zhang Yang and written by Zhang, Liu Fendou, Cai Shangjun, and Diao Yi'nan based on a story by Zhang and Peter Loehr. Background One film and one TV series with the same name precede the animated version, with more mature contents in 1963 and 2004. The animation version was a 12 million RMB investment (about US $1.5 million), modified for younger audiences. The production crew also consist of about 600 people.
