Garage Classical
''Garage Classical'' is a compilation album by British disc jockey DJ Spoony with Katie Chatburn and the Ignition Orchestra, released on 18 October 2019, on the Since 93 label. The album contains orchestral covers of classic UK garage tracks and features appearances from Paloma Faith, Sugababes, Lily Allen, Emeli Sandé, Gabrielle, So Solid Crew and more. The album was preceded by the release of two promotional singles, " Moving Too Fast" featuring Paloma Faith and " Sweet Like Chocolate" featuring Lily Allen. "Flowers" featuring Sugababes was the only single to chart, reaching No. 22 in Scotland and No. 26 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. DJ Spoony
DJ Spoony (born Johnathan Joseph; 25 June 1970) is a British DJ and radio presenter. He is a member of the UK garage production trio, the Dreem Teem. Early career Dj Spoony was born in Hackney, East London to British West Indian parents. His career started on London Underground (a leading pirate radio station in the mid-nineties), forming the trio the Dreem Teem with Mikee B (of Top Buzz) and Timmi Magic. With the Dreem Teem, he joined Kiss 100 in December 1997, followed by bringing UK garage nationally to BBC Radio 1 in January 2000. They went on to win a prestigious Sony Award in their first year. DJ Spoony was a resident DJ at the UK's top garage and R&B club night 'Twice as Nice' for 7 years, mixing and compiling three gold selling compilation albums for the brand. Zak Abel
Zak David Zilesnick (born 1 March 1995 in London), better known as Zak Abel, is an English-Moroccan singer, songwriter and musician. He has also been an English Cadet national table tennis champion. Early and personal life His father, who had been born in Morocco and emigrated to Israel, died when Zilesnick was 12 years old. Zilesnick is Jewish. "Gotta Get Thru This" is the debut single of New Zealand-British singer Daniel Bedingfield. The song was released in November 2001 as the lead single from his debut studio album of the same name (2002). The track, along with some others, was recorded in Bedingfield's bedroom with his PC and a microphone, using the music software Reason. Shanks & Bigfoot were a British duo of UK garage producers Steven Meade and Danny Langsman, known principally for their single " Sweet like Chocolate", which topped the UK Singles Chart in 1999. They were originally known as Doolally, recording the pirate anthem " Straight from the Heart" under this name in 1998. Upon its first release, "Straight from the Heart" peaked at number twenty on the UK chart. It was subsequently re-released in 1999 on the back of their chart success with "Sweet Like Chocolate", and reached number nine on the chart. Architechs
Architechs is an English electronic music act which currently consists of Paul Akabah (Tre Lowe). Former members are Ashley Akabah and producer Kevin Williams (K-Warren). Architechs gained international attention in 1998 after producing a UK garage remix of Brandy and Monica's " The Boy Is Mine", selling over 40,000 copies of the bootleg. They also produced remixes of songs by several popular artists, including All Saints, Gabrielle, Faithless, Garbage, Beenie Man, Inaya Day and Jamelia. Several of their tracks have featured on the compilation series ''Pure Garage''. In 1999, K-Warren left the group to pursue a solo career. Ceri Evans (Sunship)
Ceri Evans, better known as Sunship, is an English record producer, DJ, remixer and jazz pianist. Evans' musical career began in 1981 as a member of the jazz-funk band Swamp Children who released the album ''So Hot'' on Factory Records in 1982. He was an original member of acid jazz band the Brand New Heavies from 1985 until his departure from the group in 1992. Evans then entered into the electronic dance music scene, producing and remixing under the alias Sunship. Sweet Female Attitude is an electronic music act from Manchester, England. They are known for the UK garage remix by Sunship of their track "Flowers", written by Martin Green a.k.a. Artful Dodger (duo)
Artful Dodger are a UK garage duo, originally based in the city Southampton, which became famous for its 2-step hits and inaugurated Craig David's professional musical career with his appearance on their 1999 number-two hit " Re-Rewind".
