Gairdoch Football Club was a Scotland, Scottish association football club based in the village of Carronshore, Stirlingshire. History The club was founded in 1886. Its first competitive match was in the 1886–87 Stirlingshire Cup and was a 9–0 win over the Olympic club of Stirling, who blamed a new goalkeeper who "only stopped the shots that were going past". Gairdoch was one of 35 new members to the Scottish Football Association in 1888, alongside Celtic F.C., Celtic. The club entered the Scottish Cup from 1888–89 Scottish Cup, 1888–89 without any success - it lost its three ties in the main rounds and, once qualifying rounds had been introduced from 1891 to 1892, never won through to the main competition. The club got to the final preliminary round in 1892–93 and 1893–94, a 3–1 defeat by King's Park F.C., King's Park in the former year being the closest the club managed to winning through. The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football (soccer), football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its Scottish football league system, football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. Alloa Athletic Football Club is a Scottish association football semi-professional club based in the town of Alloa, Clackmannanshire. Formed as Alloa in 1880, the football club shortly changed its name to Alloa Association, and then to Alloa Athletic in 1881. Upon joining the Scottish Football League in 1921 they returned to Alloa, before reverting to Alloa Athletic in 1997. The club compete in Scottish League One as a member of the Scottish Professional Football League. The Midland Football League was an association football league tournament in Scotland that was contested in three different periods. The first incarnation of the tournament was founded in 1891 and ran until 1897 when most of the member clubs left to join the Central Football Combination.
