Grand Tourer Injection
A Grand Tourer Injection (from ) - abbreviated to GTI or GTi - is a fuel-injection car model variant. Traditionally used for grand tourer cars, the term is now applied to various hot hatchbacks, even though they do not have the luxury traditionally associated with grand tourers. The 1961 Maserati 3500 GTi is the first car to use the GTI name that was later made famous in 1976 with the Volkswagen Golf GTI and also by the Peugeot 205 GTi launched in 1984. Examples GTI models include: * Audi Fox GTi B1 (North America) * Chevrolet Aveo GTi T200/250 (Colombia) * Citroën AX GTI * Citroën BX GTI * Citroën CX GTI * Citroën Visa GTI * Dacia Nova GTI * Daewoo Racer GTI * Daihatsu Charade GTI G201 (Europe) * Ferrari 400 GTi * Ford Escort GTi Mk6 (Europe) * Honda Civic GTI EF/EG (New Zealand) * Isuzu Gemini GTI 16V JT190 (Europe) * Lada 110/111/112 GTi * Lada Kalina GTi (prototype) * Maserati 3500 GTI * Maserati Sebring 3500/3700/4000 GTI * Mazda 323 GTi BF/BG (Finland/ ...

Global Tiger Initiative
Tiger conservation attempts to prevent tigers from becoming extinct and preserving its natural habitat. This is one of the main objectives of the international animal conservation community. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) has played a crucial role in improving international efforts for tiger conservation. CITES CITES is an international governance network employing tools and measures which adapt and become more efficient with time.Dickson, B. (2002). International conservation treaties, poverty and development: The case of CITES. ODI Natural Resource Perspectives, 74(January), 4. One measure specifically aimed at protecting the tiger is visible in the network’s efforts to ban the trade of tigers or tiger derivatives. CITES members have agreed to adhere to this international trade ban; once a member states ratifies and implements CITES it bans such trade within its national borders. The CITES Secretariat is administr ...

Femtosecond
A femtosecond is a unit of time in the International System of Units (SI) equal to 10 or of a second; that is, one quadrillionth, or one millionth of one billionth, of a second. A femtosecond is to a second, as a second is to approximately 31.69 million years. For context, a ray of light travels approximately 0.3  μm (micrometers) in 1 femtosecond, a distance comparable to the diameter of a virus.Compared with overview in: The first to make femtosecond measurements was the Egyptian Nobel Laureate Ahmed Zewail, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1999. Professor Zewail used lasers to measure the movement of particles at the femtosecond scale, thereby allowing chemical reactions to be observed for the first time. The word ''femtosecond'' is formed by the SI prefix ''femto'' and the SI unit ''second''. Its symbol is fs. A femtosecond is equal to 1000 attoseconds, or 1/1000 picosecond. Because the next higher SI unit is 1000 times larger, times of 10â ...

Gires–Tournois Etalon
In optics, a Gires–Tournois etalon (also known as Gires–Tournois interferometer) is a transparent plate with two reflecting surfaces, one of which has very high reflectivity, ideally unity. Due to multiple-beam interference, light incident on a Gires–Tournois etalon is (almost) completely reflected, but has an effective phase shift that depends strongly on the wavelength of the light. The complex amplitude reflectivity of a Gires–Tournois etalon is given by :r=-\frac where ''r''1 is the complex amplitude reflectivity of the first surface, :\delta=\frac n t \cos \theta_t :''n'' is the index of refraction of the plate :''t'' is the thickness of the plate :''θt'' is the angle of refraction the light makes within the plate, and :''λ'' is the wavelength of the light in vacuum. Nonlinear effective phase shift Suppose that r_1 is real. Then , r, = 1, independent of \delta. This indicates that all the incident energy is reflected and intensity is uniform. Howeve ...

GTI Mortsel
GTI Mortsel is a vocational secondary school in Mortsel, Belgium. History In 1960 the idea was suggested to start up a new secondary vocational school A vocational school (alternatively known as a trade school, or technical school), is a type of educational institution, which, depending on the country, may refer to either secondary education#List of tech ed skills, secondary or post-secondar ... in Mortsel. The idea was realised in very primitive circumstances in the Deurnestraat in 1962, comprising the departments: sanitary installations and interior decoration. The regular student number increased rapidly with the years from 39 in 1962 to 160 in 1967 and on 1 September 1965 mister A. Boon was appointed headmaster. As Mortsel became 'a city' in 2000 the school changed name. From now on the letters GTI stood for "Gesubsidieerd Technisch Instituut" ( state subsidized technical school). Today Currently as many as 500 pupils are being taught here on a daily basis and about ...

GTI Club
''GTI Club'' is a racing game originally released for the arcades in 1996 by Konami, on their new Cobra arcade board, which uses PowerPC-based hardware. In the original, the player raced around the Côte d'Azur and could choose from 5 rally cars including a Mini Cooper and Renault 5 Alpine Turbo. The game allowed free-roaming of the environment, which was revolutionary for the time, and contained several semi-hidden shortcuts that could be used to reduce lap times. A handbrake is provided which the player is encouraged to use to perform handbrake turns round sharp corners. Series ''GTI Club: Rally Côte d'Azur'' (Arcade, September 1996) ''GTI Club: Corso Italiano'' (Arcade, July 2000) The first sequel (GTIクラブ・コルソイタリアーノ) released in 2000, it was published overseas in 2001 as ''GTI Club 2'' and ''Driving Party''. The action moves from France to Italy with Town (Easy), Coast (Medium) and Mountain (Hard) courses, hence the title. It features eight unlicen ...
