Frontiers (Jermaine Jackson Album)
''Frontiers'' is the fifth solo album by Jermaine Jackson, and the third post-Jackson 5 solo album released in 1978. It is Jackson's worst-selling album, despite having a minor hit with the song " Castles of Sand". Like '' Feel the Fire'' before it, it also features the Tower of Power horn section. It also features the group Switch, who Jackson had helped get signed with Motown. The arrangements are by Greg Adams, Don Peake, Paul Riser, McKinley Jackson, Gene Page and H.B. Barnum. Sam Emerson was responsible for the cover photography. The cover notes, "This album is dedicated to my daughter to be, Autumn". Isn't She Lovely
"Isn't She Lovely" is a song by Stevie Wonder from his 1976 album, '' Songs in the Key of Life''. The lyrics celebrate the birth of his daughter, Aisha Morris. Wonder collaborated on the song with Harlem songwriter and studio owner Burnetta "Bunny" Jones. The song opens side 3 of ''Songs in the Key of Life'', and starts with a baby's first cry recorded during an actual childbirth. A recording of Wonder bathing Aisha as an older toddler is brought into the final section of the song, mixed with Wonder's extended chromatic harmonica solo. All of the instruments heard in the song are played by Wonder, except for some keyboard parts played by Greg Phillinganes. During the recording process, bassist Nathan Watts laid down a bass guitar line to serve as a guide track for Wonder, but Wonder eventually replaced this with his own keyboard bass performance. The more-than-six-minute song was not released as a single, as Wonder was unwilling to shorten the song to fit the 7", 45 rpm format. ... Jermaine Jackson
Jermaine LaJuane Jacksun (né Jackson; born December 11, 1954) is an American singer, songwriter and bassist. He is known for being a member of the Jackson family. From 1964 to 1975, Jermaine was second vocalist after his brother Michael of the Jackson 5, and played bass guitar. In 1983, he rejoined the group, which had been renamed the Jacksons; he then consistently played in the group's performances and recordings until he left the group again in 2020. While Jermaine did not usually sing the lead vocal on the Jackson Five's biggest hits, he is featured on " I'll Be There" and " I Want You Back", among others. When four of the brothers left Motown Records for Epic Records in 1976 (having to rename the family act The Jacksons in the process), Jermaine, who had just married Motown founder Berry Gordy's daughter Hazel, stayed at Motown. Paul Riser (born September 11, 1943) is an American trombonist and Motown musical arranger who was responsible for co-writing and arranging dozens of top ten hit records.
