Free-rider Problem
In economics, the free-rider problem is a type of market failure that occurs when those who benefit from resources, public goods and common pool resources do not pay for them or under-pay. Free riders may overuse common pool resources by not paying for them, neither directly through fees or tolls, nor indirectly through taxes. Consequently, the common pool resource may be under-produced, overused, or degraded. Additionally, despite evidence that people tend to be cooperative by nature (a prosocial behaviour), the presence of free-riders has been shown to cause cooperation to deteriorate, perpetuating the free-rider problem. In social science, the free-rider problem is the question of how to limit free riding and its negative effects in these situations, such as the free-rider problem of when property rights are not clearly defined and imposed. Eager Seas (album)
Watashi Wa is a Christian pop rock band from San Luis Obispo, California on Tooth & Nail Records. in Japanese roughly means "I am". The band formed in 1999 when most of the members were still in their teens. They were first signed to indie label Bettie Rocket and released two albums before signing to Tooth & Nail in 2002. The band broke up in July 2004, but in a deal with Tooth & Nail Records singer/guitarist Seth Roberts' new band Eager Seas, were signed to the same label and released their first album under the name Watashi Wa. They subsequently left the label. The new band currently plays under the name Eager Seas (formerly Lakes) and were signed with The Militia Group who produced the ''Photographs'' EP. Mock Orange is an American indie rock band from Evansville, Indiana, United States. They debuted in 1998 during a growing emo and punk musical climate. Overview The first album released by Mock Orange was “Nines & Sixes” in 1998. In 2000, the band followed up with “The Record Play.” Produced by Mark Trombino (Pinback, Jimmy Eat World). In 2002, just after the release of the "First EP", the band's label, Dead Droid Records, was sued by George Lucas for copyright infringement. The suit resulted in the collapse of the label. After this, Mock Orange returned to the studio, this time with producer J. Robbins (Dismemberment Plan, The Promise Ring). During this time the band performed alongside bands like Rogue Wave, Ted Leo, and Minus the Bear, and had live appearances on MTV2 and songs on shows like ''CSI Miami'', MTV's Real World and ESPN. ''Bloom'' is the third studio album released by Audio Adrenaline. In 1996, the album was certified Gold by RIAA. Concept ''Bloom'' represented a departure from the band's previous efforts into a more straightforward rock with hints of grunge music. According to the band, both the title and the music reflects the way they've matured and "grown into a new phase of life". Recording ''Bloom'' was recorded in 1995 at various studios in Tennessee: Ardent Recordings in Memphis, The Salt Mine in Brentwood, and House of Insomnia in Franklin. Producer, John Hampton, was in charge of the recording and mixing. The mastering was done by Ken Love at MasterMix, Nashville, Tennessee. The Concretes were a Swedish indie pop band from Stockholm. History Since their formation in 1995, the Concretes have grown into an eight-piece band. Original members of the band include Victoria Bergsman, Maria Eriksson, and Lisa Milberg. Band membership has expanded and they now have a number of " Honorary Concretes" who play on their records. Annabelle Chvostek (born October 5, 1973) is a Canadian singer-songwriter based in Toronto, Ontario. Life and career Born in Toronto, she is the daughter of Canadian television producer Milan Chvostek (''The Nature of Things'') and journalist Isobel Warren. Her first gig was with the Canadian Opera Company when she was seven. She got her start in music singing with the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus and performing on television specials with Anne Murray and Tommy Hunter. She played violin with her dad and joined in on her mother's repertoire of Canadian folk songs. At age 14 she started dabbling in audio production and multitrack composition with a four-track tape recorder and a house full of musical instruments and objects to make noise with. Carson Cole
Carson Cole (born 1965) is a Canadian folk singer, and lyricist. He is a graduate of Prairie College. Biography Cole was born and raised in rural Alberta, Canada. At age 15 he released his first album, ''Cure for the World'', through Canadian Gospel label Praise Records. Cole was married at 22 and subsequently has had three children, shortly after being married he began doing bar gigs and touring with local talent to help support his family. Since then Cole has toured, extensively, Canada, the US and more recently Korea. Cole recently operated his own independent recording studio and label, Brownsound productions, which has seen the development or startup for scores of local and some widely popular bands and musicians.
