Freebird Records
Freebird Records is an independent record label, established in Eindhoven, Netherlands, in 1998. The label has specialized in stoner rock, but tries to release music by acts and artists that are on the edge of that genre.http://www.freebirdrecords.com/news/news.html, but even similar text on debut CD from 1998. The label has signed with bands from the United States, Chile, Brazil, Sweden, Finland, Germany and Italy. Freebird launched the acts of Dozer, Astrosoniq, Wallrus, Elephantum and Solace. Solace (band)
Solace is an American stoner metal band from Asbury Park, New Jersey, formed in 1996 by the remaining members of Atlantic Records artist Godspeed. They have released four full-length studio albums. iTunes.com voted the band's third album ''A.D. (album), A.D.'' "2010 Metal Album of the Year". Career Early history Tommy Southard and Rob Hultz had previously been in the metal band Godspeed, which disbanded after one album in 1994. Astrosoniq (sometimes styled as A5tro5oniq) is a band from Oss, Netherlands. Each of its album covers features hair growing out of skin. Dozer (band)
Dozer is a stoner rock band from Sweden, formed in 1995. History Early years Dozer was formed in the great north in 1995 by Tommi Holappa, Fredrik Nordin, Erik Bäckwall and Magnus Larsson, playing local youth centres and supporting any bands that came to their hometown. In 1996 Magnus Larsson left and Johan Rockner joined the band. In 1998 the band recorded Unida/Dozer, a split EP with the American band Unida. The EP was originally released by MeteorCity and re-issued in 2005. Breakthrough and rise to success While trying to secure a record deal they sent a demo tape to Man's Ruin Records, a highly influential label in the stoner rock scene at the time.
