Solace (band)
Solace is an American stoner metal band from Asbury Park, New Jersey, formed in 1996 by the remaining members of Atlantic Records artist Godspeed. They have released four full-length studio albums. iTunes.com voted the band's third album ''A.D. (album), A.D.'' "2010 Metal Album of the Year". Career Early history Tommy Southard and Rob Hultz had previously been in the metal band Godspeed, which disbanded after one album in 1994. Following stints as lead guitarist for both Sugartooth and Slap Rocket, Southard reformed the band in 1996 with Hultz and former Glueneck singer Jason, naming the revamped outfit Solace. After a 1997 demo, Solace released their self-titled 7-inch debut in 1998, followed by 1999's ''Distanced from Reality'' EP, a split with fellow New Jerseyans Solarized. Scott Weinrich
Robert Scott Weinrich (born 1961), better known as Wino, is an American singer and guitarist. He has been highly influential in helping develop and codify doom metal's trademark sound, and is also considered an influential figure in the stoner rock and punk rock genre. Weinrich started his first band Warhorse in 1976, which would later become The Obsessed. In 1986 he joined doom metal band Saint Vitus (band), Saint Vitus, where he performed on four studio albums, including their most iconic effort ''Born Too Late''. He has also released three solo albums since 2009. Biography Early years Weinrich appreciated rock music at an early age. Keith Lynn Ackerman (born August 3, 1946) is an American Anglican bishop. Consecrated as a bishop for the Diocese of Quincy in the Episcopal Church, he is currently bishop vicar of the Anglican Diocese of Quincy of the Anglican Church in North America and assisting bishop of the Diocese of Fort Worth. Ackerman lives in Keller, Texas. Pentagram is an American doom metal band from Alexandria, Virginia. They are noted as one of the pioneers of Heavy metal music, heavy metal, particularly of the aforementioned sub-genre doom metal. Edward Mundell is an American rock guitarist known for his space rock 1970's inspired sound. From 1992 to 2010, he was the lead guitarist for stoner rock band Monster Magnet, contributing to eight albums in total. As of 2024, Mundell contributes to various recordings and soundtracks as a studio musician based in Los Angeles. Career Mundell is a self-taught guitar player who grew up in New Jersey. He joined Monster Magnet as lead guitarist in 1992.
