Fredrik Lindgren (speedway Rider)
Jan Fredrik Tobias (Freddie) Lindgren (born 15 September 1985) is a Swedish motorcycle speedway rider. He has won the silver medal and the bronze medal twice at the Speedway World Championship, in addition to the world team championship in 2015. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden. Lindgren's father Tommy Lindgren (speedway rider), Tommy Lindgren was a speedway rider before him, and his younger brother Ludvig Lindgren, Ludvig also rides. Lindgren first appeared for Wolverhampton Wolves during the 2003 season as the team struggled with injuries. At the age of just 17, Freddie made his debut for the team and impressed enough to be brought back the following season when again injuries hit the club. In 2005, he moved over to full-time and averaged 7.44 for Wolves in his debut full season and in 2006 he improved to average 8.12. Elitserien (literally, "The Elite Series") () is the highest league in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises the top eight Swedish speedway teams. The first season began in 1982. Before that Allsvenskan was the highest division. The winner of the Elitserien is crowned the Swedish Speedway Team Championship winner. 2024 Clubs History From the start of Swedish league speedway in 1948 until 1981 the highest speedway league in Sweden was called Division 1. The Elite League was the top division of Motorcycle speedway, speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the The Speedway Control Bureau, Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). The 2015 Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup (SWC) was the fifteenth FIM Speedway World Cup, the annual international speedway world championship tournament. It took place between 6 June and 14 June 2015 and involved nine national teams. It was won by Sweden, the first time they have achieved success since 2004. 2024 Speedway Grand Prix
The 2024 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 30th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 79th FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the third series promoted by Discovery Sports Events. A new sprint race was introduced at selected Grand Prix during the qualifying session, with the fastest rider in each qualifying session progressing to a single race for extra points. The idea behind the sprint race was similar to that brought into the Formula One, whereby the qualifying sessions were given more importance. Bartosz Zmarzlik successfully defended the title, which was his third in a row and a fifth overall. Robert Lambert took second place with Fredrik Lindgren in third. Summary Jack Holder won the opening round, which was the first Grand Prix win of his career. The 2020 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 26th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 75th FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the 20th series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company A new points system was introduced with overall positions deciding the number of championship points a rider scored from a Grand Prix (GP), and points scored in each individual heat used to determine a rider's progress in a GP. The series was dominated by Polish venues with six of the eight races held in Poland. Bartosz Zmarzlik was the defending champion, having won the 2019 Speedway Grand Prix series, and he successfully retained his title in 2020 by winning four of the eight rounds.
