Fredericton Red Wings
The Fredericton Red Wings were a Junior ice hockey team based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. In 2025, the team relocated to the City of Bathurst, New Brunswick and was rebranded as the Chaleur Lightning. History The County Aces were founded in 2014 as an expansion team in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. The Aces played their home games at the Garcelon Civic Centre in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. In 2016 the team changed their name to the St. Stephen Aces. The rebirth of a tradition In March 2019, the MHL was approached by Global Centre Ice Inc. of Fredericton, to make a pitch for the purchase of the St. Stephen franchise. The team had been struggling financially for three years prior to the 2018–19 season, and the owners had made the difficult decision to sell the team. Maritime Junior Hockey League
The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league under Hockey Canada, a part of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). It consists of six teams from New Brunswick, which make up the EastLink North Division (formerly Roger Meek), five teams from Nova Scotia, and one team from Prince Edward Island, which make up the Eastlink South Division. The winner of the MHL playoffs competes for the Centennial Cup against the winners of the 8 other tier 2 junior A leagues across Canada (host team also participates). Prior to the pandemic the MHL champions participated in the Fred Page Cup. This tournament involved the Bogart Cup champions from the Central Canada Hockey League (Ontario), the Kent Cup champions from the MHL (Maritimes) and the winner of La Coupe Napa of the Quebec Junior Hockey League (Quebec) as well as a predetermined host. Miramichi Timberwolves
The Miramichi Timberwolves are a Junior "A" hockey team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick. They play in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The team was founded in 2000 and plays their home games at the Miramichi Civic Centre. History The Miramichi Timberwolves joined the Maritime Junior A Hockey League in 2000 and did not enjoy regular season success for three seasons. After the third season they acquired former NHLer Bill Riley as head coach, and the team reached third overall in the league and headed to their first post season. The first playoff series ever for the Timberwolves was against the Charlottetown Abbies. The "T-wolves", (as they are known to fans) swept the Abbies four games to none. The Grand Falls Rapids are a Canada, Canadian junior ice hockey, junior ice hockey team based in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. They are in the Maritime Junior Hockey League's Eastlink North Division along with five other Maritime clubs. The Rapids play their home games at the Centre E. & P. Senechal. History In 2003, the junior 'B' Woodstock Slammers jumped to junior 'A' to become part of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. After a rough first three years in Woodstock, the Slammers eventually won three MHL championships, a Fred Page Cup, and were the runners-up in the 2012 Royal Bank Cup, 2012 Royal Bank Cup. In 2018, after multiple losing seasons, the Woodstock Slammers organization applied for a one year leave of absence. The Valley Wildcats are a Canadian junior ice hockey franchise from the Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia. The team is a member of the Maritime Junior Hockey League and plays in the EastLink Division. They play their home games in the Kings Mutual Century Centre in Berwick, Nova Scotia. History The Antigonish Bulldogs were founded in 1967 as members of the Antigonish-Pictou-Colchester Junior B Hockey League. After two seasons the league became the Northumberland Junior B Hockey League. In 1974, the Bulldogs became a founding member of what became the Eastern Junior A Hockey League, but returned to the Northumberland League in 1975. The Bulldogs would win league titles and provincial titles in 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985. Berwick is a Canadian town in Kings County, Nova Scotia. The town is located in the eastern part of the Annapolis Valley on the Cornwallis River.
