Miramichi Timberwolves
The Miramichi Timberwolves are a Junior "A" hockey team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick. They play in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The team was founded in 2000 and plays their home games at the Miramichi Civic Centre. History The Miramichi Timberwolves joined the Maritime Junior A Hockey League in 2000 and did not enjoy regular season success for three seasons. After the third season they acquired former NHLer Bill Riley as head coach, and the team reached third overall in the league and headed to their first post season. The first playoff series ever for the Timberwolves was against the Charlottetown Abbies. The "T-wolves", (as they are known to fans) swept the Abbies four games to none. The Timberwolves progressed to the division finals but lost to the Campbellton Tigers in six games. The Timberwolves have never won a Maritime Junior A Championship. Miramichi, New Brunswick
Miramichi ( ) is the largest city in northern New Brunswick, Canada. It is situated at the mouth of the Miramichi River where it enters Miramichi Bay. Ontario Junior Hockey League
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The league dates back to 1954 where it began as the "Central Junior B Hockey League". In 1993, the Central Junior B Hockey League was promoted to the Junior A level and renamed the "Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League". In 2009, the league was dissolved by the Ontario Hockey Association and split into two leagues: the "Central Canadian Hockey League" and the "Ontario Junior A Hockey League". By early 2010, the two leagues merged to reform the Ontario Junior Hockey League. At its peak, the league was composed of 37 teams and is now mostly based in the Greater Toronto Area with a few teams eastward towards Kingston, Ontario, Kingston. Collingwood Blues (1988–2011)
The Collingwood Blues were a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. They were a part of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League and earlier the Central Junior B Hockey League. History Founded as a Jr ‘B’ team in 1948-49, the Greenshirts dropped down to Jr ‘C’ in 1949-50, although they played in a mixed league of B and C teams during the regular season. Collingwood junior hockey excellence can be traced back as far as 1950 where the town's Junior "C" team won four straight Clarence Schmalz Cups as All-Ontario Junior "C" Champions. Subsequently, they were named the OHA’s Jr ‘C’ Team of the Century. The Blues played in the Georgia Bay Jr.C league until 1969, when they joined the Central Ontario Jr.B league. Navan Grads
The Navan Grads (officially the Navan Grads Hockey Club) are a Junior A ice hockey team based in Ottawa. The Grads compete in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) as a member of the East Division. The club is owned by the family of former owner Steve Barban, who died in October 2024, while the team's broadcasting partners is FloSports. The club was founded as the ''Rockland Boomers'' for the 1973–74 season, and rebranded to the ''Navan Grads'' after one season. The residents of Navan renamed the franchise to the Grads after buying it in 1974. The team played home games at Navan Memorial Centre for its first 15 seasons before moving to the R.J. Kennedy Community Centre. Since 2017, the Grads play at Navan Memorial Centre. Several individuals who hold an association with the club have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Winkler Flyers are a Junior ice hockey team in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) team playing out of the Winkler Arena in Winkler, Manitoba, Canada. The Sioux Lookout Bombers are a junior ice hockey, junior ice hockey team from Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. They were a part of the Superior International Junior Hockey League. The Bombers mark a return of junior A hockey following the folding of the Sioux Lookout Flyers. History The Sioux Lookout Flyers were added to the Superior International Junior Hockey League for the 2008-09 season. The Flyers mark the first major level hockey in the town since the Intermediate leagues of the 1970s. The Flyers are Ontario Junior hockey's most Northerly club at 50° 06′ North.
