Fred Hammond
Frederick William Hammond (born December 27, 1960) is an American gospel singer, bass guitar player, and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most popular figures in contemporary gospel music. He is known for using a variety of different styles in his music such as R&B, hip-hop, and disco. Musical career Hammond has been active both as a member of the gospel performing group Commissioned, and as a solo artist (currently for Verity Records). He is a multiple Grammy, Dove, and Stellar award winner and nominee as a performer, producer, and writer. Hammond first gained recognition while playing bass guitar for the gospel group The Winans. By 1985, he was one of the six original members of the group Commissioned, participating in 10 of the group's 12 albums. After his time with Commissioned ended, he regained fame in the gospel community after selling millions of albums with his musical group Radical For Christ. LaFace Records was an American record label based in Atlanta, Georgia, that operated as a unit of Sony Music Entertainment from 2008 to 2011 and was historically a part of Bertelsmann Music Group from 1989 to 2004. Marcus Randell Cole (born November 9, 1971) is an American gospel musician and worship leader, Christian R&B, urban gospel and black gospel recording artist and singer. He started his music career, in 1996, with the gospel music group, Commissioned until 2018. Marvin Louis Sapp (born January 28, 1967) is an American Gospel musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Early life and education Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sapp began singing in church at age four. In third grade he met MaLinda Prince, his future wife. He was a student at the unaccredited Aenon Bible College in Indianapolis, Indiana. Keith Anthony Staten (born January 25, 1964) is an American gospel musician. He started his solo music career, in 1990, with the release of, ''From the Heart'', by Lection Records. This was his breakthrough release upon the ''Billboard'' magazine Gospel Albums chart. His subsequent album, ''No Greater Love'', was released in 1995 by Glorious Music, but it failed to chart. The third album, ''Worship in the House'', was released by Word Records in tandem with Epic Records in 1996, and this album charted on the Christian Albums chart. He released, ''Glory in the House'', in 1995 with the aforementioned labels, however this time around it charted on the Gospel Albums chart.
