Franz Vogt (born 1918)
Franz Vogt (9 October 1899 – 14 May 1940) was a German trade unionist, Social Democrat and member of the German resistance against the Nazi regime. Life Vogt was chairman of the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold in Bochum and secretary of the economic-political department of the ''Bergbauindustriearbeiterverbandes'' ("Mining Industry Workers' Union"). In 1932, he served in the Prussian diet as a representative from the Social Democratic Party (SPD). History Of The Social Democratic Party Of Germany
The foundation of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (, SPD) can be traced back to the 1860s, and it has represented the centre-left in German politics for much of the 20th and 21st centuries. From 1891 to 1959, the SPD theoretically espoused Marxism. The SPD has been the ruling party at several points, first under Friedrich Ebert in 1918. There are both men and women on this list of ("Resistance fighters") primarily German, some Austrian or from elsewhere, who risked or lost their lives in a number of ways.
