Frants Nielsen
Frants Nielsen (22 January 1874 – 6 June 1961) was a Danish sports shooter who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics. He was born in Alum, Purhus Municipality, and died in Randers. Purhus Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Purhus municipality was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Aarhus County on the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 169 km2, and had a total population of 8,547 (2005). Its last mayor was Berner Nielsen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Fårup. Purhus municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). The men's 300 m rifle three positions was a shooting sports event held as part of the shooting at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the third appearance of the event, which had been introduced in 1900. The competition was held on Tuesday, 2 July 1912. Eighty-four sport shooters from nine nations competed.
